It is located in Lebanon, near Tripoli, and in 2007 the Lebanese army turned it into rubble during an internal war against an insurgent faction. This was the result of such extreme measures of shelling:
Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon are under the responsibility of the UNRWA, and the rebuilding of the camp was the most expensive and arduous project the organization has taken on. At first 95% of the camp was completely destroyed and the 27 000+ residents were all displaced. Thanks to the rebuilding efforts, the majority of the refugee camp was rebuilt and 82% of the residents have returned to their homes. The UNRWA's goal was 329 million $, and they have gotten to 85% of the fundraising goal. Please consider donating if you can to help bring those 9000 Palestinians still displaced back to their camp.

just fyi: israel announcing they won’t be investigating the murder of shireen abu aqla because they “don’t believe any criminal activity occurred” means that they’ve already investigated and the results are ones they don’t want shared
if a palestinian was the one who shot her (like they falsely claimed - disproven by multiple israeli and international human rights orgs) and they had evidence to prove it, they’d be screaming it from the hill tops…but it’s eerily silent
and what they’ve said about not believing any criminal activity on their part is probably true - they already believe they’re in the right while committing war crimes, beating and killing civilians on the daily, bombing homes, assassinating press, upholding apartheid, imprisoning and prosecuting children in military courts, and ethnically cleansing their way across stolen land
so are we surprised?
