I DID IT, YAY~! ♥
After 2.5 years on my old blog, I felt like some things needed refreshing, so I have been working on this new blog for a bit now. New tag styles, new aesthetic, new layouts, updated rules and muse pages… a lot has changed, so please look over things like rules and muse pages at least.
As for old threads and such, I plan on continuing old threads, I just ask that you tag my new blog in your replies until we’ve moved threads over here. As far as stuff I’ve drafted, I’m happy to restart threads, but they have been sitting in there for so long I get anxious just thinking about replying, so I won’t be replying to them. (I get this anxiety about replying to old things thinking it will annoy folks or make them angry with me, idk)
If you’re interested in redoing or continuing old threads on this blog, please send me a message so we can figure out how to make it happen!
As always, I will only be following folks I plan on writing with (I am still mutuals-only), so I’m going to be slowly re-following folks over the next few days, but I might miss a few. Any followers I get on this new blog will have their pages looked over and if I think we’re compatible, I’ll give a follow back. Give me like a week or so to catch up though, yeah? ♥

“Okay, here’s what we’re going to do-” Tony clapped his hands and rubbed them together. “JARVIS, play me something good.”
Of course, sir.
Howlin’ For You by The Black Keys starter playing and Tony nodded his head, pleased. “We’re geting you some new clothes, a...” he glanced back, looking over the rim of his glasses for a moment. “... hairbrush,” he turned back to close the schematic he’d been tinkering with for now. “And we’re heading out on the town.”
Tony swiveled around on his heel to face the other. “You haven’t been on Earth since the 70′s, right? A lots changed, buddy. I think it’s time to show you how the big kids play here on Earth.”
“Oh shit- oh shit!”
He hadn’t registered just how weak Tony was, caught up in the moment of victory and the sudden realisation that Gamora had slipped away somewhere and left them- left him- behind. Coming back to his senses with a nasty thud, Peter raced across to the older man, closing the gap between them with a skid that sent dirt and debris flying every which way.
“Hey, no, no no- Stark! Hey, Stark, look at me, man. We won, we won, you did it!”
They didn’t even know eachother all that well, but Peter was stunned by the damage Tony had sustained at the power of the Infinity Stones. He felt a coldness creeping up the back of his neck as he remembered all too vividly the pain that had ripped through his every cell and nerve when he held the Power Stone, knowing that Tony would have suffered the same fate, and probably on a higher level.
Jesus…
“Can I get a little help here, please! Now!” Peter yelled over his shoulder, turning back to Tony with uncharacteristic shaking hands. He didn’t want to touch anything in case he made it worse, but he settled for resting a hand against Tony’s neck, just to make contact and get his attention to focus. He just needed to stay awake, keep his eyes forward.
Peter winced at Tony’s now withered arm, a complete mess, the burns traveling all the way up across his shoulder to his face.
“Listen, you beat that bastard. You played him. And you’re gonna be okay.”
Tony was processing things in fragments. He was looking up at Star Lord, his eyes wide and wild, and his vision faded for a moment, reality blurring... he felt a hand at his neck, clarity of the words being spoken to him fading in and out like the tide.
He gasped in a breath, holding it in as he felt the pain finally begin to set in. He turned his head slightly to look at the younger man, who was now trying to hold his attention. Tony tried, but it felt like all he could see was the remnants of the battle around them.
Had they won? Really?
Tony let out the breath shakily, more tears falling from his eyes unbidden. He just couldn’t stop. Was it relief? Denial? Shock? Hell, it could have easily just been pain, but... he wasn’t sure. The hand on his neck grounded him and he moved his good arm up, grabbing above the man’s wrist.
Stay, he pleaded with his eyes, his voice too far gone. Stay. Help was coming, he could see others crowding in around them, voices mingling in a rushed, anxious cloud. Tony focused on the man who’d first reached his side.
PTSD isn’t just flashbacks. while a lot of movies, books, games etc equate post traumatic stress disorder to having extremely vivid flashbacks in which one thinks the trauma is happening again, this is not the only symptom of PTSD, nor is it a requirement for having the disorder.
other symptoms of PTSD include
- problems sleeping
- nightmares
- hypervigilance (constantly checking surroundings for safety, looking for any possible threat)
- being easily startled
- being emotionally numb or not experiencing joy
- seeing the world as a terrible place
- memory loss
- trouble relating to others
- physiological or strong emotional reactions to reminders of trauma
- intrusive thoughts about the trauma
flashbacks are not the be all and end all of PTSD. it’s a much more complex disorder than it’s portrayed in a lot of media, nor is it military exclusive. i hope this post can at least help educate some people beyond the incomplete and in some cases outright wrong information that a lot of people have.
