Character design/concept art I did for How to Be Human!

Designing the protagonists, based on the author's directions, was my favorite part. My intention was to ensure kids could - with just a glance - immediately understand their personality!

I'm really excited to talk about the books I've been working on!

How To Be Human is a 6-book series about Starr and Tigo, two little aliens stuck on Earth. They're going on adventures, they're eating things they shouldn't, they're having a blast!

I had a great time working with the Authors, Zed Yeo (who wrote Starr's books), and Tan Yi Lin (who wrote the Tigo books).

The series can be read in any order, and recommended for little space dudes aged 5-10.

I'll be sharing some character design work I did prior to starting this project soon, as well as a few illustrations I really enjoyed. Stay tuned!

You know that prompt: "draw your two biggest comfort characters as the steven meme"?

That's them. They're both terrible at this.

I've had these sketched out on my computer for ages - Johto's my favourite region and the starters have a special place in my heart.

And because I've just finished book 3: Iskierka! She is the literal embodiment of that "Send me an angel; the nicest one you have," meme. I think that's probably why she's so popular.

Temeraire Book 2 doodles - this is a very serious book series about the Napoleanic War, but you'd never guess from my art

I'm 3 books into the Temeraire series, and wanted to revist my design of him. Temmy, our special boy.

Not related to anything in particular, I just think that's a neat trivia fact.

I'd like to shake you warmly by the hand for guessing exactly who inspired Humanformers Rattrap. Mickey is based on the Renegades version of Nicky.

I liked it a lot, but it took too long for the monkey to show up.

But don't just take my word for it, it's mom-approved.

A veteran medic, Dr Rian Knox (Rhinox) has the most years of combat experience. You don’t work for the Maximals as long as he has without blood on your hands - it’s why he’s content to be nothing more than Optimus’ advisor on this mission Dr Knox spends most of his free time tending to his bonsai and collecting horticultural samples from No-Man’s Land... that’s when he’s not patching up the younger Maximals in emergency surgery.

Dr Conroy Kong (Optimus Primal) is personally spearheading a rescue mission into No-Man’s Land... little does he know his team might be stranded there themselves. Now he’s thrust into keeping a ragtag team of beastmen alive on the hostile island; all the while fighting time anomalies and the Predacon cell group staking out the island. He’s more used to lab work than field work - let alone active combat - and he’s going to have to learn fast.
