🎀 And after what seemed like forever, I am back!! Since I last posted I have completed my final IB exams (eagerly awaiting results), graduated and even gone on senior trip! I was looking over some of my things and realized the sheer magnitude of work that I had done leading up to this point.. and as I go on to university, I want to continue sharing what seems to be a pretty successful strategy for surviving school!  So expect some more activity and changes to the blog, and if there’s anything particular you want to see, please do not hesitate to send me a quick message!

How do you make your bio sl notes? Like, how do you summarize everything? I have trouble because I always want to write every single little detail down

@mauveish Heya!! To answer your questions I’m gonna paste in some replies that I have already give to people and also add some extra things so here we go!Before I start one of my pages I plan out how i’m going to arrange everything, making a rough guess of how much space I’m going to need for each subtopic. I consider any drawings or diagrams I would make. After that I usually pick a color scheme. And then I just focus on the page and get it done in one go. When I’m working on one topic, let’s say a chapter, I always have my notes and the study guide open. I use the notes to recall key details that I struggled with when first going over them or for things I know that I will need extra help to remember. The study guide that I have distills the information to just the ‘must knows’ and I make sure to include all of those. Evidently, a tip in general is to not use full sentences, but rather focus on key words and phrases that you know you need to be able to recall. And keep in mind, it’s impossible to summarize everything. Sometimes things just don’t fit!! Others you miss out. But as long as you went through most of what you have to know, I think you’ll be good for revision!! Hopefully that somewhat answers your question- I know it’s kinda a broad answer, but of course it works differently for everyone- so if you want something more specific, please ask.

Hi, my Year one IB classmates were wondering if you got CAS hours for doing those very fancy Bio Notes?

Avatar

@cousin-it Heya!! I never thought I’d get this question but the answer is yes! In fact, I not only get hours but just running a Studyblr is an official activity for both creativity and service.

I had to explain what Studyblr was to my CAS supervisor, but soon as he understood, he approved it as a valid activity. Of course, I don’t have a teacher supervisor for it, so they’d have to make sure to put in plenty of reflections.

🌂 Bought myself some new stationary to celebrate the end of mocks!! And it’s so funny cause after I brought my review notebook to school everyday of exams, people started writing to me asking how to set up their own review or annotations.. Honestly this is what I wanna be known for ahgdsj  In other news!!! I got accepted to my first university!! So I feel like I deserve the stationary even more now.. Couldn’t be happier!!!!
