absolutely obsessed with jobu tupakiโs outfits. the glamourโฆ.the high campโฆ.the way that you can visibly see her mental/emotional state based on the way she presents. in the first scene where she meets evelyn, she looks like a fun party girl whoโs completely independent in every way and doesnโt need anything/anyone she doesnโt want or permit to enter her life. this serves as a message to evelyn that sheโs grown up enough to take care of herself without her, and her mothering is neither wanted nor needed. in other scenes where she has more power over other characters (especially evelyn) she appears in large, dramatic, and protected outfits that would be difficult or even painful to get too close to. in scenes where she fights and challenges evelyn and the hold she has over her life, she wears variations of armor and other fighter clothes. her โmultiverse monarchโ outfit is bold, elegant, and screams enlightened apathy in a way that completely opposes the plain brown robes she gave evelyn in that universe. and perhaps most importantly, in the scene where she and evelyn have their final confrontation, she dons a vibrant suit with teddy bear plushies built into it to show that deep down she can still be an imperfect little girl who sometimes needs her mom.
