I recently visited Japan and found it to be extremely clean! I mean I was only in Ginza but it amazed me how neat and organized the outside was, I loved it. Is this the case for other parts of Japan? If it is, oh how I wish the west was like that.

Cool! I’ve never been to Ginza. Tokyo itself is so modern and shiny haha. There are a few sketchy areas, but the parts of Japan that I’ve been to are very clean and well-kept. What I love and miss about the west is that there are trash cans in every corner though!

I’m a dormant volcano. Pew pew pew! Gonna burst when it feels right. HAHA!

How do you form relationships with Japanese people as an expat? I’ve heard that while of course they are polite upfront, they are shy and hardly want to deepen friendships with foreign people. My Japanese is elementary and I want to shake my nerves about feeling isolated when I move their later this year.

Ahh hello! Sorry for the late reply. I think...it’s probably not that they don’t “want to” have relationships, and more like they don’t know “how to” due to a lack of communication and culture difference sort of thing?  But moving here helps a lot of people improve their Japanese quickly. You still have time to learn, and you will continue to pick up things when you settle in. No matter where you fall in the fluency spectrum, you will find the right people with time. There are so many people here. Not all will be polite upfront just like not all will be shy or standoffish, you know? Good luck and have fun with the move. What an adventure! Wahoo!

what do you think of your own art? I do art as more of hobby but I do sell it but I have only sold one because it's the only one I felt confident enough to sell.

Same. I only put things out if I am confident in them! I'm proud of a lot of things I've made, but I want to be better better better! Butter!

will you be putting any more prints up any time soon? i'd love to put some up in my new apartment. :,)

Wow wow thank you so much. Ahhh I know, I need to get on the print making again! I didn’t post my art online with the intention of selling things so I’m really slow and behind on releasing new stuff. If you follow my Storenvy, I think it’ll notify you of updates!  Whenever that will be...; 3;

Hi, I tried to check if you had already answered something like this. I'm really sorry if you did ; ^ ; I'm 18 and looking to study abroad in a country where english isn't the native language. When you decided to, had you been thinking about doing it for a long time beforehand? cos I'm worried I'm being impulsive haha. Thank u ; u ;

Hello! I don't like being impulsive about big decisions either. The decision to study in Japan came naturally to me since I've wanted it for so long! The second I heard there was a program for an exchange at my school, I hopped on it right away. It took me about 9 months to prepare everything like boring paperwork and I did some self-studying to familiarize myself with the language before the big leap. Good luck to you!! I'm very excited for you.

Hiya tammy! May I ask what study abroad program you used to come to japan the first time? Also did it take you a while to adjust? Was anything different than you expected? Sorry if these questions are too many or too personal. Thanks ^^

Seinan Gakuin in Fukuoka. I had a great time there and only have positive things to attribute to that experience. Fukuoka is a wonderful place! I'd live there forever if I could.

How did you learn Japanese? And any good places in Tokyo? :)

Hello! Many different ways. Two years of classes on and off and a study abroad program, television programs, music, movies, talking with friends...things like that. I really like cat street in Ura-harajuku, Shimokitazawa, Nakameguro, Daikanyama, and the Ghibli Museum! Basically anywhere calm in Tokyo haha.
