I think it’s probably easier if you have a partner. Part of me looks forward to a time when I have a family and a partner and I take less of my nourishment from social occasions. Having a little unit around me will make my working life easier, because it is quite lonely otherwise

I just don’t know why they keep acting like La La Land was this IMPOSSIBLE TASK to make.  It’s a send up to Singin’ in the Rain and movies like it.  You know what seems harder to make?  A movie about a young black man’s sexuality.  A movie with a South Asian male lead who is supposed to be romantic and desirable and heroic rather than a joke.  A movie about an interracial relationship challenging the laws of the United States when interracial couples still face racism every day.  A movie about black women sending astronauts into space.  File all of those things under “concepts harder to turn into a mainstream movie than La La Land”.
