I think that at the end of the day, Teen Wolf’s great failure was a lack of scope and real life. That will be what really ruined the show. Not any ship or any plot hole (because a lot of great shows have trash ships and plot holes), but an absolute lack of awareness of the outside world and the regular things people do. Name one time, outside of a scene at their school, that the characters have ever been in a large public crowd in the daylight sitting outside of a cafe, or when any of the characters went to get groceries, or a time when we had any sense of what the larger supernatural community was like??

It has never happened. It was always this contained group of people in this contained little place called Beacon Hills that is always dark and no one does anything but face life threatening situations. That kind of thing can work for certain shows, but Beacon Hills was run over by too many outside forces to make it believable that these people just never have a desire to do regular things to remind themselves they are human.

No vacations, no restaurants or coffee shops, no college visits, no funerals, no weddings, no churches whatsoever, no pets, no siblings, no scenes of Lydia and Malia and Kira shopping, no going to the movies, no sleepovers, no mention of the characters’ favorite bands or tv shows or movies, NO TALENTS!!!! Like… what can these kids do well other than almost die. No idea of what Scott McCall’s family is really like or the kinds of people he comes from. You mean to tell me in 6 seasons you couldn’t find a reason for a Mexican family to have a big ass get together? Familys of color will gather for literally any reason like that should have been so easy.

Teen Wolf failed because Teen Wolf neglected real life. I mean it also failed because the writing started to decline, but also… real life.

characters who deserve better: isaac lahey ♡ teen wolf.

I look like I just stepped out of the - the last period of a Catholic prep school, and there is no way I’m going to remember all of this, I mean what does this even mean, “revolving over and under barrels?” I am sweating all the way through my jacket, I didn’t even know I could sweat this much.
