“NBCUniversal is cutting about 200 jobs at the DreamWorks Animation campus, the company announced Thursday.

Episode 5 of the prodigiously dreadful Combiner Wars web series, available on a website/app nobody’s ever heard of called “go90″ in the US, and on Machinima’s YouTube channel elsewhere.

So, is this properly bad or is it bad in the Trasnformers fandom sense of “it has women in it so I hate it” bad?

Oh no, it’s legit rubbish. Most of the voice acting is awkward, waiting-for-my-cue bad, the animation has a hilariously low frame rate, you never see any combiners combining because they’re too cheap to do animation models for the components…

And story-wise, it’s like an IDW adaptation written by people who, perhaps, overheard some other people talking about IDW in a noisy bar one night and figured that was enough research. Windblade, for instance, is defined by her desire to murder every combiner.

That’s not true!

She also wants to murder everyone associated with combiners, everyone who’s been in the presence of a combiner, and everyone who’s even heard the word “combiner”.

Man, if Windblade were a Republican Senator, she’d totally secretly be a combiner.

Okay, how about everyone shut up and realise the kind of thing we’re getting here? Do you have any fucking idea how much this shit costs to make? How hard this probably was to get fucking greenlit despite having a non-exsistant budget at all? How about instead of being a bunch of whiny little shits that complain how “it’s not like the comics!” you be thankful for getting what you got considering that it’s FOR FREE. Not even any ads.
