combing through habits as well as

mother claim as her seven children

enthusiastically chewed food and spoke

at the same time demanding silence

punishing the ones who dared

it is love

that mysterious feeling

my motivation to wake up

at dawn

to face new challenges

and relax

warnings of imminent change

elephants and gazelles

roaming the savannas

for the last sources of fresh water

know their patience will pay off

returning to them in an eyeblink

what seemed nearly lost

as i watch i realize

how delicate the balance of life

and i felt humble
