LMAO I wish I had a very meta answer but it really is coincidence, I've barely watched Phineas and Ferb.
I think it's also just very similar design philosophy with basic shapes. You want characters to have contrast, circle meet triangle.
It's funny because they are definitely directly inspired by muppets more than anything else lol
