S'up! Some already know us as the admins of these blogs:

But here’s the issue: we’re both really fuckin’ fickle. Our inspiration runs off as quickly as it comes, and that results in a lot of half-hearted blogging, or flat-out inactivity. This blog will be better than that. Instead of sticking to one character, we’ll have many we can go through at our leisure. If we ever feel like going back, we can. And we will.

Here’s to a great community. Cheers!

(Rp starter, ask-the-invest) The crisp feeling of fall chilled Adaline's bones as she wrapped her coat around herself. Walking past the tall, old fashioned houses of Salem, she couldn't help but get shivers up her spine not caused by the temperature.

The moment Lucas stepped outside was the moment he regretted it. He hadn’t expected it to be so cold, and his coat was still drying, so there was no other choice but to go back inside.

But before he could close the door, a solitary figure caught his eye. It only took a second before he recognized the unique silhouette of the local investigator, Adaline. Everything told him to shut up and go to bed, but seeing her so alone on such a desolate night made the familiar feeling of guilt well up in his chest.“Hey!” he called out. “Do you need a place to stay?”

Lucas tried to hide his surprise and failed quite miserably. He hadn’t expected her to agree so readily, but now that she was here, he came to realize he definitely did not think things through – in many more ways than one.

Another gust of frigid wind reminded him to shut the door, and so he did. He wiped his nose again, silently cursing its tendency to water at the slightest chill, before looking up to face Adaline.

He was startled at how pale she looked. She met his gaze and smiled slightly, as if she wanted laugh. He wasn’t too sure if it was a response to his expression, or his appearance in general – or maybe she was just trying to be friendly – but either way, he was getting uncomfortable with the silence.

The man broke the eye contact and looked around. His shoulders fell. “Sorry for the mess. I wasn’t expecting company.” He shuffled past her and gestured to a cushioned wooden chair, almost orange in the flickering light of the fireplace. “Go ahead and take a seat. Do you want something to drink?”

Anonymous asked:

Would you be comfortable talking about your ex?

Back in my old town, we had a library. It had pretty much everything. I was working there, and since it’s a small town and all, it wasn’t long before I learned who our most frequent visitor was. And, you guessed it, it was my ex.

We started out as friends. She really liked books and movies and stuff, so I gave her suggestions. Then, when she finished them, we just talked about the philosophical side of it. That just brightened my day, y’know? She gave me a reason to look forward to doing a job that would otherwise be dull.

I dunno when we started dating, but I guess you’re asking ‘cause you want the juicy details of our break up. Long story short, she found out that I wasn’t the person she thought I was.

I’m still kind of bummed out about it, but hey, that’s life.

A feeling of dread tugged at his gut. He knew it would be better for him if he just let her be, but she seemed so cold, and he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if she got sick because he wouldn’t let her in.

“It’s really cold!” he shouted. “Do you want to warm up a bit before you go on?”

It was then that he realized he must’ve sounded really creepy, asking a stranger to go inside his house, so he quickly added, “You don’t have to! It’s just, uh, bad to be out in this weather!”

He wiped his nose, wishing she would hurry with her answer so he could close the door and perhaps sleep his guilt away.
