i debated whether i was going to post this, but i'm in a mood this morning, so you're getting it. so my current hot take in this fandom:

i have noticed there is a complete double standard in this fandom when it comes the way people talk about kara and jesse.

lately i have seen so many people say we shouldn't talk about the rumours surrounding kara because nothing is confirmed and we need to respect her privacy.

yet, no one extended that privacy to jesse and his wife when photos of them popped up on the internet. as far as i've seen neither jesse or his wife have confirmed they were pregnant/having a baby. yet i've seen so many people go absolutely rabid over the fact. not once did i personally see anyone mention respecting their privacy.

if something applies to one member of the cast, it should apply to all members.

also, i find it absolutely disgusting that someone would go as far as messaging Steve Chierotis asking him if the rumours about kara were true. he’s a consulting producer for the show, he isn’t an actor. he probably isn’t as familiar with the etiquette in the industry. you don’t talk about another actors personal life.

and i'm sorry but i find a helluva lot more disrespectful that someone would go out of their way to find out jesse's baby's name when it hasn't been announced than the people speculating about kara's pregnancy.

we all know which social media platform i'm talking about in this post.
