       the hesitation’s long fallen away now, but his shoulders still sit heavy and charles’ voice is a notch or two softer than it usually is with the fear that his guilt will somehow inject itself into every syllable he uttered if spoken any louder. but the ends of his mouth still soften into a smile when he bends a knee into the edge of her mattress. “yeah, i’m okay. just ─ ” his right shoulder shifts in the smallest version of a smile. “missed you, is all.” a confession better left sunken into her bedroom walls. “d’you think she’s going to need you to help out some more, or can i steal you for the night?” 

keira knew that really they had no place to pass a judgement on the matter, however they’d never really been one to keep their opinions to themselves. ‘ and you’re still with him ? ’  it was hard for the blonde to hide the fact that they sounded a little disapproving of the idea, so they didn’t even attempt to. ‘ i mean, not that it’s my place to say anything but – well, it’s just not really very fair on you, is it ? ’  they muse, a small attempt to sound a little more neutral on the matter.
