I am telling you now: I might be young, but I am good. I work hard, and I'm a good person. I know what's right. I know what's wrong. And if you give me this chance-- if you just give me one shot to show you how good I can be, how hard I work, how much I believe in doing the right thing -- I won't let you down. I promise.

Tori and Clint were forever sweethearts. They grew up together since they were kids and at a young age they knew they loved each other. Sadly they would find out that their inseparable relationship would be ripped away from them. Just as they were start high school Tori’s family moved after her father died. She never would see her childhood lover again. While she was gone she always wrote to Clint never wanting to loose the contact with him until he stopped responding for what reason she did not know.

In high school her life was hell and she bullied and harassed by the boys at her school. One of the boys played her making her think he liked her for her and wanted to be with her. But she found out at a party that he had horrible plans for her. That night she was raped by the boy who invited her to the party and by his friends. She ended up getting pregnant by one of the boys. She didn’t finish high school after that. She was only 15 when it happened and she was not mature enough to be a mother so when the baby girl was born she put her up for adoption. She never forgave herself for doing that.

Years later she was now 24 years old and she had went back to school to get her GED. Now she was working as a waitress. It wasn’t much of a job but she was able to make a living for herself and have a roof over her head.

As Tori did everything else, Adaline made sure to put the chicken nuggets on the sheet. She even made it so that they all fit on the sheet. She continued to move it around until it was completely flat and ready. She smiled up from the sheet to look at Tori, "There you go, mommy." She offered.

Clint was working hard, glad he knew what he was doing. Honestly, bartending wasn't hard. He could keep up with everything with no issues. The hard part might be going back to a normal life after this mission. This was a meant-to-keep-your-ear-to-the-ground type of job, but he was seeing too many sketchy people. He wanted to step in on a few instances but managed to be an uninterested 3rd party. However, despite his best intentions, that was all about to change.

He saw the couple sitting at the bar. Cute girl, a sleazy guy, but what else was new? He was taking a drink order from two new patrons when he was summoned over by the sleazy ball.

"What's your poison?" He asked the man, making an internal note that he might be the one they were investigating, but the girl was the pull of his focus.

Her whole demeanor was someone that didn't want to be there anymore.

He nodded, "Alright, maybe we'll spend a night out here if we choose something here. Just to make sure it'll be okay." He offered to her as he took a deep breath, smelling the air and the clean scent of the country.

She smiled and put the pot in the sink as she turned on the water, "Does the water need to be cold?" She asked as she looked up at her.

“It’s doesn’t matter baby. We are going to boil the water on the stove.” She told her softly. She loved this time they were getting together.

She smiled and nodded before looking at the pot, starting to fill up with water. She waited until her mom would tell her how much water was needed.

Tori smiled watching her fill the pot up with water. Once she got half way she nodded “ok that’s enough baby.” She said softly leaning over to turn off the water.

She nodded and moved to pick up the pot. It was too heavy for her to pick up, so she stopped and looked at Tori, "It's heavy, mommy." She said.

Tori smiled softly and leaned down to press a kiss to the top of her head before grabbing the pot for her “it’s ok I got it.” She said as she set the pot on the stove and turned the aisle on to start getting the water boiling.

Ada stayed put as she watched her mom, not moving to the stove, watching the fire from where she stood. "The stove is hot, ya?" She asked.

She looked back at Ada and nodded her head with a smile “yes it id hot so be careful around it ok?” She told her softly wanting her to know it’s ok to go around it but to be cautious.

She nodded, but stayed put. "What else can I help wit" She asked, ready for more.

She smiled and went over to grab the chicken nuggets out of the freezer. “Can you help me put the nuggets on the baking sheet?”

She smiled and nodded, ready to help, "Yes, mommy." She moved to follow her, ready to help some more.

She smiled and grabbed the baking sheet out along with his nugget bag. “Ok let’s fill the baking sheet with the nuggets ok?”

She nodded, "Okay, I can do that." She waited to start filling up the baking sheet. She was excited.

Tori smiled just wanting to eat her up with how cute she is being so excited to help her mommy. “Ok think you can handle this on your own while I get the oven heating and pour the macaroni noodles into the boiling water?”

She nodded, "Yes, mommy, I can do that!" She exclaimed. She was bouncing with all the joy and excitement a six year old can have.

Her whole demeanor was someone that didn't want to be there anymore.

He chuckled softly as he kissed her cheek. He went to the front, ready to see if there was a taxi service. It was mainly just a small airstrip. He went to the offices that were on the property and smiled as he walked in. "Hello?" He asked.

She smiled holding onto his hand letting him lead the way. Walking into the office, there was an old man at the front desk and looked up “how can I help you?”

He smiled, "Hello, I was wondering if there was a taxi service? We were hoping to see about a nearby house that is for sale." He explained to the man.

The man nodded his head with a small smile “well we don’t have a taxi system set up here. But I have some numbers I can give ya to call a taxi.” He man said pulling out a couple of cards from different taxi companies.

Clint smiled and nodded, "Thank you, sir. We'll get out of your hair." He offered with a smile before leaving the office with Tori, going to call any of the taxi services, hoping one would help.

“No problem have a nice day.” The man said giving a smile back. Tori held onto Clint’s hand as they exit the office and he picked a taxi service to call.

After trying all three, Clint was able to find one that would pick them up and take them to a car rental option in town. Thankfully, they weren't that far out and could use a taxi to get back from the car rental.

"Alright, they should be here shortly. Do we want to get you a change of clothes?" He asked.

Tori was relieved that they were able to get a taxi to pick them up to take them to a car rental place. “I think I’m ok in this. What about you baby?” She asked not sure if he wanted to change.

He shook his head, "I'm okay. I've been in a set of clothes longer than this." He promised her. He moved to go sit on the grass, ready to wait.

She smiled and nodded before sitting down beside him. “Ok baby. Thank you.” She told him as she leaned against him.

He smiled as he wrapped an arm around her, gently kissing her head as they waited. He relaxed and was happy to just sit back and wait. He looked up at the sky and just enjoyed the silence of the country.

She smiled and took a deep breath sighing softly. It was so peaceful out there and she could wait to have a house out in the country side where it was peaceful.

He looked at her, "How do you feel about out here?" He asked as he let them just sit in the sun.

She hummed at his question and smiled nodding her head. “It’s so peaceful out here.” She said as she kissed his cheek.

He nodded, "You come from big cities. Think you can handle it being so quiet?" He asked gently.
