bc even if she’s not an unsung genius, she’s an under-sung one, and it’s a downer knowing how slept on she is & will continue to be when she outwrites & outperforms so many temporary people on temporary pedestals with temporary things to say.

anyway, if you watched beychella, please watch dirty computer; please watch janelle with the same context in mind for her personal & community history to honor her artistry as y'all gave beyoncé for lemonade… please embrace black women’s expressions of themselves & their experiences in your hearts, because black excellence & black girl magic are varied & beautiful things that deserve to be uplifted in all their multifaceted glory.
