Hellooo!! I saw one of your posts recently. And while i can't really say much since I'm not the one truly experiencing the problems, I can relate to a few things that you said.

I can tell that you're probs going through a lot and i hope maybe one day you can find peace with the conflicts you are facing.

If you're ever doubting your skills, I just want you to know that I'm a big fan of your works!! I couldn't help but be awed by your writing when I first stumbled upon OPT. This is really also just me trying to say my thanks to you, because you were the one who reignited my desire to start writing again during pandemic. I didn't really get anything done until now, but I can never forget the things I felt while waiting for every update on OPT. The story made me feel alive. It was what kept me going through those times, and even through the present time. It was a story that stood out than the rest, and it set my standards high. There was just that connection that I couldn't let go of. I'm still so attached till now.

Cheer up, big sis Wendy!! The true readers can understand what you're going through, and heck, I'll always look forward to any news regarding OPT and your other works no matter how long it takes until you're truly in the mood again to write with the same passion from before.

Not only me, but I'm sure the others will forever love you our dear author! I hope that this can atleast cheer you up. May you get through the hard things in life :)

ANON WHO ARE YOU I WANT TO GIVE YOU HUGS AND KISSES

Ah shucks, man! You're making me cry. This means so much for me. Thank you so much!

I know OPT might not be the best fic, but I'm glad it has an impact in your life, anon. I'm really really glad.

And thank you for waiting. I don't know how long this will last, but thank you for the patience!

You're so nice, anon... Holy heck...

How To (Realistically) Make A Habit Of Writing

To clarify: Works with my autism. WORKS WITH MY AUTISM!!! I’ve been meeting my goals since I made them my New Year’s resolution! Anyway I’m so sick of all those ‘how to’ guides that don’t actually tell you what the process is they’re just like ‘just do it, but don’t burn yourself out, do what’s best for you!’ because you’re not telling me what I’m not supposed to be burning myself out over but okay, so I made my own. Hope this helps

1. Choose your fighter metric. What works better for you as a measurement of your progress; time spent writing or your word count? Personally I get very motivated and encouraged by seeing my word count go up and making a note of where it should be when I’m done, so I measure by that. At the same time, a lot of people are also very discouraged by their word count and it can negatively impact their motivation to write, and in that case you may be better off working from how much time you spend writing rather than where the word count is

2. Choose your starter Pokémon time frame. How often can you write before it starts to feel like a chore or a burden rather than something fun you look forward to? Many people believe that they have to write daily, but for some people this can do more harm than good. Maybe every two or three days? Weekly? Figure out what fits your schedule and go with it

3. Choose your funny third joke goal. Now that you’ve got your chosen time frame to complete your goal in, what’s a reasonable goal to aim to complete within that time frame based on the metric you chose? If your metric is your word count, how much can you reasonably and consistently write within your chosen time frame? If your metric is time spent writing, how much time can you reasonably and consistently spend writing within that time? Maybe 1000 words per week works, or maybe 10 minutes per day? The goal here is to find something that works for you and your own schedule without burning you out

4. Trial and error. Experiment with your new target and adapt it accordingly. Most people can’t consistently write 1667 words per day like you do in NaNoWriMo, so we want to avoid that and aim somewhere more reasonable. If you feel like it’s too much to do in such a short time frame, either give yourself less to do or more time to do it in. If you find yourself begrudgingly writing so often that it constantly feels more like a chore than something fun, maybe consider adapting things. And if you think that you gave yourself too much wiggle room and you could do more than this consistently, give yourself more of a challenge. Everything needs to suit you and your pace and needs

5. Run your own race. Don’t feel like you’re not accomplishing enough in comparison to others or not working fast enough to satisfy some arbitrary feeling of doubt. Everybody works at their own pace and slower work doesn’t mean worse work. You could be on one word per day and you’ll still see consistent results, which is still one word per day more than you could originally count on. All progress is progress, regardless of its speed

This! This is fantastic advice, and I'm sharing it in the hope I will actually take some notice of it. I need to run my own race and stop setting unrealistic goals.

In April, I planned to write 50,000 words. I got to around 30,000 last weekend, but this week has been really busy, so I've written nothing other than some notes. Am I beating myself up for not meeting my arbitrary goal that has no bearing on the rest of my life? Of course I am. I'm an idiot.

Happy 4th Anniversary for TW:OPT!

(Two weeks late, but better than never.)

Can't believe it has been 4 years, eh? Can't believe I'm almost one year without posting any TW:OPT related since the final episode. I don't even think I ever post a Behind the Fic for chapter 163. Sorry about that.

I honestly don't know what am I supposed to make for this year. Honestly my biggest goal is to finish all of my wip, including ideas for TW:OPT Gaiden, before moving on to Book 2.

May Writing Challenge

This May I want to get back into writing. I’m not at all consistent. I’m at a point where I don’t feel like I can work on bigger things, because I can’t guarantee myself to keep working on it in a week from now. So I will take this month as a training month to get back into the habit of writing. I will do this by writing (or trying to write) 200 words every day. Topic is irrelevant. How great my writing is that day is irrelevant. Just 200 words written down. A habit taking 21 days to form was debunked, it does take a lot longer, but 31 days are a start I would say. These are already 140 words, so 200 words every day are hopefully manageable. You're more than welcome to join me if you like 😊

Let's see how it works out this time! 🖊

Harvest Moon: 64 and the Possible Sixth Bachelorette

One of the biggest mysteries of Harvest Moon: 64 unused content is Princess Vanilla. What if I told you she was the original “Special Bachelorette”?

There’s a few clues to this potential theory, which I’ve listed below.

First Clue: Why so many avatars?

Older Bokumono games, especially the first, didn’t give many expression avatars to non-marriage candidates. In Harvest Moon: 64, Maria has 9 expressions, Elli and Karen have 8 expressions, Popuri has 7 and Ann has 6. Princess Vanilla was earmarked to have a total of 7 expressions, one of which was a special sleeping expression that only the other bachelorettes were given. Even though all but one portrait were never finished, they were referenced to in her leftover dialogue. She also was given a full assembly of sprites, including one for dancing!

Second Clue: What was up with the turtle fiasco?

image

Were you also confused when you first heard of Princess Vanilla and her turtle adventures? In summary, the event was described previously as such: Pete finds Princess Vanilla, cursed to be a turtle, after she has a heated conversation with the Harvest Sprites. Apparently this happened after she escaped the Prune Kingdom and was about to be the wife of a frog. She warns Pete to not touch her, because the curse would then fall on him as well. He does anyways, and finds himself in turtle-form. It turns out after he’s transformed into a turtle, Pete actually goes around town searching for his best friend to help him turn back. It could be any of 11 choices who had an undetermined high level of affection for Pete: Ann, Elli, Karen, Maria, Popuri, Cliff, Gray, Harris, Jeff, Kai, Or Stu and Kent. Princess Vanilla comments after the event that Pete is lucky he has friends. There was indeed an option to not turn back, presumably if Pete wandered all day and didn’t get to his friend in time- whether the game ended after this outcome is unknown. So why is this important? This event could have been Princess Vanilla’s equivalent to the bachelorette’s special event. It shares the same key elements: involves other villagers and ends with a comment from the girl.

Third Clue: Even more events…?

Here’s a definite check mark to the bachelorette argument. Every bachelorette has an interaction event with the other bachelorettes if they’re both at yellow hearts or above with the player. This formula is very evident in HM64. Coincidentally, Princess Vanilla was supposed to have an event with each of the girls, some where she asks the Player if she’s prettier than the girl. These events are very bare-boned, in fact, only Ann, Popuri and Elli have distinct lines even though these events appeared in each girl’s dialog. Elli has a special event with Princess Vanilla where she requests honey from her instead of comparing her beauty to Elli’s, similar to the other girls having a stronger friend preference for some of the girls over the others.

Fourth Clue: If she’s the special candidate, what about a rival?

The first Special Candidate in the series (the Harvest Goddess) didn’t have a rival, but I believe Princess Vanilla was meant to have one. Rick. Isn’t it peculiar that Rick has several “friend building” events unique to only the rivals? He asks the Player if he wants bread, he fixes the music box for you if you’re friends, you can find his weathervane, you can give him a rare metal to help him build a teleporter. It always seemed weird that someone who’s around the same age as all the other rivals wasn’t actually a rival…which is why it was very strange that he also was grouped with the other rivals in terms of order of creation. He’s at the swimming festival and has a swimsuit like the other guys, was he originally meant to be in the water with the rest? He also mentions the following in-game: “Is there a girl? Well, a long time ago…and still now, actually… But she rejected me. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Continue the story? About me being rejected? Well, it was like…“I can’t follow you…” What could I say, eh?” This could have been just a random unnamed girl or even one of the bachelorettes, but the phrase “I can’t follow you” but insinuating she’s still around and he still loves her is rather peculiar. At the two events Princess Vanilla is at, the Flower Festival and the Horse Race, she shares them with Rick and doesn’t say very much during them (too busy watching someone, maybe?) With the Princess’ formerly mentioned attitude, it wouldn’t be unthinkable for her to outright reject Rick. He never mentions any of the other bachelorettes beyond his cousin, Ann, so it seems unlikely that his crush is one of the other bachelorettes. But how would that have worked? Are there events they share? The answer to this is no, none that were conceived before she was scrapped.

Did Rick meet her in Moon Mountain when he went to the mines? Would Rick have used his teleporter to finally follow her? Maybe.

Whether or not she was intended to be a bachelorette, Princess Vanilla never made it to the final version and was cut before any of these suspicions could have been answered. It’s not a stretch to think she could’ve been intended to be a Special Bachelorette, as future special candidates included “Witch Princess” (possibly a later incarnate of Princess Vanilla). It wouldn’t be the first time unused content was later repurposed for another game and utilized fully…and it’s definitely fun to think about. As Rick said: “Snow… Have you looked at a snow flake? The world is so well- designed, even in the things we can’t really see. It made an impression on me.”

Sorry Rick for your love interest being vetoed, at least you got Karen in Back to Nature.

Still in a Harvest Moon mood, I decided to give all of the characters in HM64 full names (except the sprites).

Also decided to challenge myself to use pick one for each alpabeth. Well, tried, but then divided into major and minor character. So, none have the same beginning letter in their surname except when they're one family.

Meanings under the cut (in alphabetic order; bold for major character, italic for minor character):

Tsuki vs Harvest Moon 64: Let's get the legendary Party Picture!

So, two weeks ago (around Ramadan break), after watching someone attempting to getting married the secret bachelor in Harvest Moon DS Cute and succeeded, fulfilling their childhood dream, I decided to pick up Harvest Moon 64 once again.

So, back story, I have a soft spot for Harvest Moon 64. It was in the Project 64 emulator my dad got me when I still had my rusty computer. I remember waking up at 6 on a Sunday morning just to play one more Mario Party game before church because after that it is back to studying (I could only play at weekend night).

Harvest Moon 64 was an interesting game because the first time I played it, I reached year 6th maybe and still don't have any progress (I think I got sick during evaluation day and that's why it got extended, I don't remember) ! My farm is still dirty and I didn't even know where the beach is!

As I grew, I made some attempts and actually got married to Popuri (in year 1! it was love at first sight) and had a kid! But I was still missing some things because my goal is to make a decent progress. I was pretty happy, especially compared to the horrendous first attempt (I as in elementary school okay?! I don't have (and still don't) the right thinking skill).

So, now, I decided to try again. This time I will try to get the Party Picture!

But because I'm not confident in my skill, I used some guides and cheats XD The only cheat in the emulator I'm using is Max stamina, infinite watering can, infinite fodder, and infinite chicken feed. No max money or lumber or relationship with the girls.

So, I decided to make like some sort of record of how far I've come. This will either be my life history in the making or another embarrassment in an attempt in getting the Party Picture.

According to the guide, I will need:

  1. Eat 6 (of the 10) red power nuts. The blue power nut does not count toward this total!
  2. Must have 250 happiness.
  3. Your dog’s affection must be 200 or higher.
  4. Must be married and have a child.
  5. Wife’s affection is 250 or higher.
  6. Combined affection between all villagers is 2,494 or higher.
  7. One non-starved adult chicken.
  8. Have all 6 home extensions.
  9. Have 80% of farmland be grass in any stage (384 squares of outdoor farmland).

Well, let's make another attempt. Hope for the best!

This is the last day of Winter in Year 1. Introduction!

This is Jonah (if you know, you know) and this is the Discord Nitro Farm, or DNitro for short. Look if I'm going to enjoy this game, I deserve to have funny names.

The dog name is Grimace Shake (or Grimac) and the horse is McDoland (McDola). McDola won the Horse Race Festival last Autumn while Grimac got 4th place. We'll try again in Year 2.

Also, I was a couple of days old to know that the maximum material you can get is 999. I basically had a strategy during the first year to eat at least two medical herbs after chores so that I won't get sick. This include cutting all the lumber before the hot spring was built.

For tools, I only have your usual. I barely use the sickle so I never change, while the hammer is still silver, so I can't get the power berry from the fisherman pond during winter. I am going to buy the blue feather later and purpose the first day of spring.

Other animal I have are 6 chickens, 2 cows, and 2 sheeps.

Because I'm a project sekai girly and the proud mom of one Tenma Tsukasa, every chicken is named after the Kasaverse: Tucasa (regular Tsukasa), Thorpe (with an 'h'), Valier (short for Chevalier or White Day Tsukasa), Lilium (Lilykasa) , Miles☆ (his character during Tondemo event), and Nakyam (short for Nakayama). All, except for Tucasa are born and raised here and all of them are laying egg.

The cow is named after Project Moon character but sillified; Ismael and Outism. While the sheep is named after two YouTuber I watch recently; TCNick(3) and Vernia(s) from Party Crasher. Everyone here is bought from Ann's dad. I'm only gonna start making baby cows after winning the Cow Festival. Ismael recently got L-milk so she will be the one entering the Cow Festival next year. TCNick still have regular wool if I remember correctly.

For extension, I have almost everything, especially the important ones; kitchen, bathroom, baby bed, and greenhouse. The log terrace is in progress, while the staircase will have to wait. I need only those two to get the house extension picture. Greenhouse specifically, I had a new system; plant the Summer & Autumn crops because they can grow back, while the empty slots are for gifts.

For recipe, I have almost all. I know I'm missing the mountain couple's recipes, Elli's grandma, one of the carpenters, the potion dealer or Saibara, the bartender, and the fisherman.

I only have 4 out of 10 of the power berries (from the Flower Festival, randomly on the farm, from the Egg Festival, and from an offering at the Goddess Pond). I only need 2 more. I think I can get from the large fish and Stu's marbles.

The relationship aspect is probably my proudest moment. I got all of the bachelorette to the pink heart before the year ends! So, I can get almost all of their picture (except Popuri, probably in Year 2). I got two girls to confess to me: Karen and Elli. Not only that, I got several reval heart event. I know I've seen many of Kai/Karen, Cliff/Ann, and one Harris/Maria. I haven't seen one from Jeff/Elli, while Gray/Popuri will probably be happening next spring.

I've been friends with all the rivals, so securing Karen, Kai, and Cliff from leaving. Not only that, I have become friends with several characters, most notably Rick, Gotz (Karen's father), the Pastor, and Sasha (Karen's mom). My prediction is if you keep giving them their favorite gift for an entire season, you can get good friendship with them. But I'm only doing this starting this winter after my greenhouse is built because I'll be planting flower and grass next spring. So, this winter, I've been giving the pastor, Karen's mom, and Popuri's mom some tomatoes. I tried the buyer as well but it's hard to predict when he's gonna appear in the bar. I'll still be giving them tomatoes until I got their dialogue indicator (aka Karen's mom smile in first interaction). For spring, it's potatoes time.

And that's all!

So, who I'll be marrying to? Well, as I said two girls confessed to me and I got several rival events. I really ship Kai/Karen, so they're off the table. Ann/Cliff too. Popuri was my first wife and had a thought to marry her again, but hearing Gray mumbling about her at the bar is cute I can't do it!

So, I have to options: Maria and Elli. To choose I decided to go to the church during new year eve and get out to see who will invite me to watch the first sunrise. That person will get the blue feather tomorrow.

And...

It's Elli! She will be my future wife!

Well, gonna play this day again because I just need the screenshot.
