Updating my DNI because it’s been a while and I’ve grown up:

If you interact, I’ll block:

  • Pro-contact for the big three paraphilias or any paraphilia in which it is impossible for consent
  • Pro-harassment of any kind. Yes, even against people you don’t like or that you personally find morally objectionable
  • Pro-Endos
  • Nonblack people who use AAVE. You look stupid.
  • Any kind of -phobe or -ist
  • Purity culture enjoyer (this includes sexual moralism, anti-kink, and anti-ship harassers. What people do in their spare time has nothing to for with you. People are allowed to explore and enjoy dark themes and unhealthy dynamics in their literature. (The only personal “but” i have about this is i disagree if it’s written in a positive or fetishising light and posted online). This being said, if you are antiship but mind your own business, you’re fine
  • Anti-Paraphiles
  • Pro-Israel

I’ll probably update this again 🤷

“After learning my flight was detained 4 hours, I heard the announcement: if anyone in the vicinity of gate 4-A understands any Arabic, please come to the gate immediately. Well—one pauses these days. Gate 4-A was my own gate. I went there. An older woman in full traditional Palestinian dress, just like my grandma wore, was crumpled to the floor, wailing loudly. Help, said the flight service person. Talk to her. What is her problem? We told her the flight was going to be four hours late and she did this. I put my arm around her and spoke to her haltingly. Shu dow-a, shu-biduck habibti, stani stani schway, min fadlick, sho bit se-wee? The minute she heard any words she knew—however poorly used—she stopped crying. She thought our flight had been canceled entirely. She needed to be in El Paso for some major medical treatment the following day. I said no, no, we’re fine, you’ll get there, just late. Who is picking you up? Let’s call him and tell him. We called her son and I spoke with him in English. I told him I would stay with his mother until we got on the plane and would ride next to her—Southwest. She talked to him. Then we called her other sons just for the fun of it. Then we called my dad and he and she spoke for a while in Arabic and found out, of course, they had ten shared friends. Then I thought just for the heck of it why not call some Palestinian poets I know and let them chat with her. This all took up about 2 hours. She was laughing a lot by then. Telling about her life. Answering questions. She had pulled a sack of homemade mamool cookies—little powdered sugar crumbly mounds stuffed with dates and nuts—out of her bag—and was offering them to all the women at the gate. To my amazement, not a single woman declined one. It was like a sacrament. The traveler from Argentina, the traveler from California, the lovely woman from Laredo—we were all covered with the same powdered sugar. And smiling. There are no better cookies. And then the airline broke out the free beverages from huge coolers—non-alcoholic—and the two little girls from our flight, one African American, one Mexican American—ran around serving us all apple juice and lemonade, and they were covered with powdered sugar, too. And I noticed my new best friend—by now we were holding hands—had a potted plant poking out of her bag, some medicinal thing with green furry leaves. Such an old country traveling tradition. Always carry a plant. Always stay rooted to somewhere. And I looked around that gate of late and weary ones and thought, this is the world I want to live in. The shared world. Not a single person in this gate—once the crying of confusion stopped—has seemed apprehensive about any other person. They took the cookies. I wanted to hug all those other women, too. This can still happen anywhere. Not everything is lost.”

MENA people can say the US is bad and both political parties are bad and a white liberal will hop on and say how actually one genocide is better than the other because then if the "lesser of two evils" is in power, it happens in a mythical faraway land of Agrabah but if it's the "worser of two evils" it happens in their own backyard and they can't have that *gasp of horror*

Y'all don't give a fuck about genocide being bad, y'all care when it affects you. Leave MENA folks alone when we say fuck the US and US imperialism in our homes!!!

It's been said but it rules that IDF propaganda is "our LGBT-inclusive PAWG soldiers will destroy the terrorists in whatever preschool they try to hide in" and Hamas is like "fake Adidas tracksuit 360 No Scope RPG tank kills compilation"

IDF: "The 69th Cum Retrieval Unit won't leave a single viable sperm on the battlefield"

hate what people did to the dead dove tag

mothers and fuckers of the jury. "Dead dove: do not eat" is a label on a bag in the fridge. It means "the content of this bag is exactly what is labeled". It does not mean "trigger warning uhhh something". In fact, it means the exact opposite of "trigger warning uhhh something", because tou use it with other tags. You write a fucked up fic with extreme violence and gore, you tag it as "extreme violence", "gore" and you tag it with "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with emotional abuse, gaslighting and manipulation, you tag it with "emotional abuse", "gaslighting" and "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with your extremely niche kink that appeals to like 3 other people and may skeeve out the rest of the fandom, you tag that with your kink and "dead dove: do not eat". It's so people know you're really mean the content warnings.

It's NOT a catch-all term for "uhhh this may be fucked idk". TAG YOUR SHIT GENEROUSLY.

one thing that keeps me going is that I know one day, we will all see a free and/or safe Palestine, Congo, Sudan, Ukraine, and more. We will, we have to. Tides are changing. The world is changing.
