wonderland by taylor swift is the snowbaird anthem and i won’t accept any criticism
guys i am back in my hunger games obsession and i’m in DEEP. ever since i saw tbosas on opening day i can’t do anything except think about snow’s downfall and how he could have been so good. he could have been so happy. how he chose power and fear over his love for lucy gray. how his trauma from the war and the influences in his life set him up for failure. I CAN’T MOVE ON.

TOM BLYTH AS CORIOLANUS SNOW | The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) Academy Orientation
i think something that elevates the hunger games franchise is not just the quality of writing but the integrity of it. tbosas isn’t just a cash-grab by suzanne collins in the age of sequels and reboots (though i won’t pretend that didn’t play a part), it’s a character study of the main antagonist with a different structure than the main trilogy. and importantly, it doesn’t just re-hash the same old themes and beats the main trilogy had, it expands on not just the world of the hunger games but the themes as well, it actually has something new to say about the trilogy’s themes about class, capitalism, power, and control, in a way that couldn’t be explored with the main story because the protagonist of that story simply did not have access to the world that’s being explored in tbosas.
i understand the people who call for books/movies to be made about haymitch, finnick, johanna, different years of the games — we love those characters and want to see more of them! i’d kill for a novella on finnick’s days mentoring tributes, or katniss’s parents falling in love. but at the end of the day we probably wouldn’t be very satisfied with those stories being fleshed out if they had absolutely nothing new to say about the world, they’d be enjoyable, but not as interesting and engaging as tbosas has been.
tbosas was SO GOOD like it was so faithful to the book i wanna cry. i swear the whole thing felt like everything i imagined in my head was coming to life on screen. now i’m back in my thg era and desperately need to reread all the books. also tom blyth with curly blonde hair is top tier.

LOKI serie 2021-2023
Lucius Malfoy originally wasn’t supposed to have long hair. However, when Jason Isaacs was cast in the role, he requested the longer hair so Lucius could be distinguished from his son, Draco.
In order to keep the hair from falling in front of his face, Isaacs had to keep his head tilted back, which further added to the snobbishness of the character, making him “look down his nose at everyone.”
I am more of a reader now than I used to be. Books are new worlds to be explored, learned about and understood. I buy, and am gratefully given, books at a rate faster than I can read them. There is still much I don’t know, and want to know, and reading can be a way into the minds of others. I didn’t really have an angsty go-to novel as a teenager, but I read Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina when I was twenty-one and was (am still) blown away. I find Levin’s journey extremely moving. It will never get old. — TOM HIDDLESTON for The Gentleman's Journal (2022)
