Star Trek: The Next Generation // S03E19: Manhunt
Lol all I see on Twitter are people raving about Picard and all I see on tumblr are people ranting about Picard and I’m tired
Star Trek: Picard Surrender
i think the funniest possible star trek viewing order might be strictly chronological.
you’d have to start with that Voyager episode where they go to before the Big Bang, then work your way through every other time travel episode, the one with the whales, and First Contact before you even get close to anything approaching a normal viewing order.
at some point you’d have to watch “City on The Edge of Forever” followed by “Little Green Men” followed by “Far Beyond the Stars” which is about the most tonal whiplash you could possibly get from three consecutive episodes of star trek. I think I want to try this now.
HEY THATS ME IM DOING THAT I HAVE A SPREADSHEET FOR IT AND EVERYTHING
See this is what I need. I need someone this obsessive and good with spreadsheets to attack Star Trek: Picard and keep track of the way women are treated. I can't bear sitting through it all again, but I want to see the actual numbers for everything.

people in the notes gotta stop calling me shit like "manic" and "obsessive" for this and requesting i do another fandom or something. stop and think about the meaning of your words
- people like me are what keep memory alpha and all that running. if you like in-depth fandom content, say thank you instead of calling us names
- i am a human being doing this in my free time for my own personal benefit. any benefit y'all derive from it is inconsequential and was not the intention when i first made this. i do not take requests. i am a human being on the other side of the screen, not some inhuman Content Creator™️ posting for your personal pleasure. be polite
Guys, stop being weird to fellow fans who are doing a valuable public service
(and, while they’re at it, making it possible to experience Star Trek in what I can only imagine is the closest possible way to how the Bajoran wormhole aliens see it)

Something about Shaw going from being the last one picked to go on the shuttle to being the one making sure everyone else got on the shuttle before him
Star Trek: Picard 3.8 "Surrender", a summary
Happy Make it No Monday everyone!
Talking about Chateau Picard wine in season 3.
“You must’ve heard about the Battle of Wolf 359. […] It’s like… it’s like space itself was burning. 50 of us made it down to the life deck. But, uh-oh… there’s just one life pod. Ten seats.”

I will have more to say about this later but, what I’m getting from all these posts is that Shaw calling Seven Hansen is objectively worse than Seven disobeying his orders to blow the turbo lift and consequently getting multiple members of the Titan’s crew killed.
Only on Tumblr.
I’m with you on this. Seven is right to be angry about blatant disrespect from the man whose life she just saved. But Shaw is also NOT HAPPY with Seven at the beginning of this episode, and for good reasons. As far as he’s concerned, her refusal to blow the lift (followed by training her phaser on the wrong person) has directly resulted in the deaths of every crewmember outside the bridge without plot armor. He knows the bridge officers are next. And his main priority has always been to keep his crew safe — he’s been saying this outright on repeat since the first episode. So of course he’s furious, and of course a guy who needs as much therapy as Shaw does is going to say hurtful things to lash out. Calling her “Seven” is a sign of respect, and he doesn’t respect her AT ALL in that moment. (I also think it’s plausible that he’s playing up the animosity to not give Vadic any more leverage over either of them, but let’s stick closer to fact for now.)
It’s also notable that after Seven stays on the bridge with Jack to “[accept] the consequences,” Shaw doesn’t deadname her after they retake the Titan and he lets her lead the attack on the Shrike. I thought this was a pretty clear peace offering on both sides and am surprised more people aren’t talking about it.
So yeah, I interpreted their interactions in this episode as bidirectional fury leading to a tenuous truce. We’ve seen Seven’s performance evaluation in the end credits and it’s a safe guess that “Cmdr. Seven of Nine” is under the redaction, so I’m excited to see how she and Shaw get to that point.
Data’s memories. “I am who I am because they exist.”
