Life update 05/01/2024

I finally received my IELTS results last April 29. Currently, I'm finally moving forward to process my CGFNS, WES, and some probable state licenses I need to accomplish while looking for an employer. I do hope that I end up with a "direct hire". And I'm kinda happy 'cause I'm finally doing tasks for my own plans. I froze since I passed my ASCP license. There were so many things I had to do for work and some stress I had to process.

Anyway, that IELTS exam story was crazy tho. I was chill when I applied for the exam. Tbh, I didn't have time to review mostly because of work and some errands. Overall, I had less than 5 days to prepare in total since I was kinda over-confident. I know I wasn't that good, but during the exams I gave my best. And for the speaking part, I know I gave a good performance. However, I was really rattled when the examiner was also a Filipino. And to think that I had a hard time listening since there was kind of a noisy background, I was really challenged. That last part when I asked her to repeat the question while simultaneously being agitated might've probably given her a negative vibe. She made me pause 'cause I was interrupting her while repeating. And for that last question, although I was able to answer her quick, I only had less than 30 seconds.

That experience really made me nervous enough to think about taking the PTE. But it really does cost a lot. But I'm grateful. So very grateful to get the band score that I need to finally process my CGFNS. Rawr.

I've decided to submit my resignation in July. Or hopefully in June. It might be a month and a half of rendering since there'll be a lot of endorsements. But hey, I have to pressure myself to leave. I've saturated the learnings I have to absorb. And the stress has been worse recently. I'm done.

Funny that my boss wants me to replace her. And I know I'd like to experience and discover her work, BUT I also love myself. So I'd rather enjoy my youth and just keep the stress in the laboratory. Fuck though, being the chief is so fucked up. It takes a lot of my time and understanding (and I just truly want to deal with my own problems lol). But I've learned and experienced a lot with my current position, so I'm grateful but sadly I'll be leaving soon. It's for the better. But hey, it still feels like I'm a child seated on an older person's chair. Fuck the forced maturity. I've come to maximize the experiences I can saturate from my workplace and it's amazing how those can change and recall some of my perspectives. Life is always about learning and growing. But hey, I'm thankful for all the opportunities, either taken or left untouched.
