This adorable little robot is designed to make sure its photosynthesising passenger is well taken care of. It moves towards brighter light if it needs, or hides in the shade to keep cool. When in the light, it rotates to make sure the plant gets plenty of light. It even likes to play with humans.

Oh, and apparently, it gets antsy when it’s thirsty.

The robot is actually an art project called “Sharing Human Technology with Plants” by a roboticist named Sun Tianqi. It’s made from a modified version of a Vincross HEXA robot, and in his own words, it’s purpose is “to explore the relationship between living beings and robots.”

I don’t care if it’s silly. I want one.

In spite of the little time He was there, I really liked Fei-Lang's character and I wanted to know a little about him. It was not clear to me whether He appreciated Lin or not. And Lin too. The end hurt me a little, given that Fei-Lang never really knew love or affection and if I knew him, she could not enjoy it. Is he mentioned in the future? Why?

Feilang definitely looked up to Lin. It’s interesting re-reading the novel and seeing how highly he respected Lin. For instance, when his mediator Yang suggested maybe the Kakyuu Group found Lin to be useless to them and got rid of him, Feilang got really bitter and was certain that wasn’t the case and that Lin would have been one of their best killers. So much so when Feilang asked about Lin to Suzuki later, he was shocked and bewildered how Suzuki didn’t recognize Lin. Feilang was that certain of Lin being a bigshot with them!

Feilang did form a genuine friendship with Lin, it’s just that he wanted his freedom more than his friend. As such he was willing to kill him at any costs, even betray him. But since they both miraculously survived, there was no need for Feilang to kill Lin anymore. For him to track Lin down and reunite with him, so they could work together like they had promised, really shows to me how much he cared for Lin.

While he does die in this novel, and his time in the story is rather brief, he is occasionally mentioned in future novels. Mainly in the aspect of the narration explaining Lin’s past, so it’s nothing new being added. Feilang’s story is done, and so is Lin’s past.
