Hi guys!! Pre-orders for the Still Alive Zine are now open!

As much as I want you all to go ahead and ensure you get a copy I want to provide a disclaimer first that due to circumstance (and my own lack of planning) the zine will only be available digitally. I am incredibly sorry about this and I feel terrible for promising a physical version from the beginning- the fact is this is my first time organizing a zine and I over estimated my own abilities. I hope you all can forgive me, and I hope to do something similar to this in the future with more forethought put into it.

Regardless, all of the contributors have put massive amounts of effort into this project and so far it has turned out amazing. I hope you all will still support the zine!

It has been about 3 weeks since the Still Alive zine released and we have made $775 !! (after fees from paypal and gumroad) All of the money raised thus far has been donated to Black Girls Code and I am so proud of what we have done through this project, it would not be possible without the support from the Portal community. You all are incredible !! thank you so much for everything and thank you to everyone who worked so hard on the project!! If you haven't picked up the zine yet it is still available here and all the purchases will still go straight to supporting Black Girls Code !!

Still Alive Zine Update!!

We are a week away from release, the outpour of support has been incredible and I am so grateful to all of you.

I've almost finished putting together the zine and I truly can not wait for you all to see it. We are close to raising $500 dollars for Black Girls Code through this project and I could not be happier. I really would like to reach that goal and further so please pre-order if you can!! Still Alive Portal Fanzine Update!

Hi all! Just wanted to check in with all of you here on tumblr and let you know how the zine is progressing so far!  First order of business, we have a carrd! https://still-alive-zine.carrd.co/  you can find all the contributors credited there as well additional information! 

Also, as you might have noticed, we have some beautiful cover art featured on the carrd by @chloroart !! 

So far everything is going according to schedule and the zine should be able to publish on April 18th, AKA Portal 2′s 10th Anniversary (that is the goal of the zine after all) 

I am currently working on picking out a printing service and figuring out how I will distribute the zine, once all of that is settled I’ll open up pre-orders. Expect that somewhere around mid march!  I am also in the process of getting things approved with both our charity of choice and valve!  I hope you guys are as excited about this as I am! I am so excited to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Portal 2!

If you applied to the zine check your email!!!  Thank you to everyone who applied, everyone's art and writing was amazing and I wish I could have accepted everyone.  I will continue to keep everyone updated here, I’m excited to help create and share the final project with you all!

Still Alive Zine Questions!

Hi fellas! Since It’s almost the cut off date for the application and I’ll have to start sorting through applications soon I figured I’d go ahead and answer some questions from the application :)  1. Q: Does applying mean I’ll definitely be in the zine?  A: Unfortunately, no. As much as I’d love to include everyone I’ve had a lot of applicants so I will have to narrow it down a bit.  2. Q: Is having a discord required?  A: If you get accepted, yes. All communications between artists and mods will be done through a discord server.  3. Q:  Will the art we make for the zine be allowed to be posted to social media after a year or two?  A: Yes! I’d say the minimum is 1 year and sneak peaks/sketches can be posted whenever - preferably if you mention the zine when you post it!  4. Q:  Can we do multiple works for this?  A: Yes! Once I chose all the artists actually I’ll be getting all the specification for how long fics will be and how many pieces artists will be making  5. Q: Will there be a discord server?  A: Yes! I’m working on it right now and getting a friend to help me mod. It will only be for artists/writers  6. Q: Is it ok if you don’t have portal art in the portfolio?  A: Of course! I’m judging based on the quality of art more than anything  Feel free to send in asks if you have any other questions !
