It’s been difficult and he’s been so patient through it all, which is the least she can expect but it’s still appreciated. Every touch she’s recoiled from, every time it got too overwhelming and she had to pull away, to leave him high and dry halfway through. It wasn’t FAIRon either of them that what happened on her would effect their relationship like that, but she was getting what help she needed and healing more and more each day. Now, when he walks through that door, all she can think about is how she wants him. 

“ I’m more than okay, ” she answers him in a hushed whisper against his mouth, not even having the willpower to pull back, to give them any more space than is necessary for breath. “ I just missed you, ” heat crawls across her skin, satiated only where he touches her. Her kisses trail along his jawline, stubble scraping at the pillowy flesh of her lips. “ So much, ” ten hours since the morning never felt so long and she plans on making up all those lost hours.

𝐋𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐄𝐑  𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐒  𝐇𝐄𝐑  𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐄  𝐀𝐒  𝐒𝐇𝐄  𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐒.              “ wow!  okay,  i’ll  give  that  a  solid  nine  out  of  ten.  one  point  deducted  because  i  was  super  busy  today,  but  now  it’s  one  in  the  morning,  so  aside  from  stitching  YOU  up… “          her  gaze  lowers  deliberately,  as  though  scanning  him  for  the  usual  assortment  of  cuts  and  bruises  that  greet  her.  who  needs  FLOWERS  when  you  can  have  a  bunch  of  stab  wounds?  still,  when  he  doesn’t  have  any,  she  rises  to  her  feet,  stepping  closer  with  an  expression  of  AWE.

“ and  look  at  you,  mister  devil!  not  a  SCRATCH  nor  affliction  on  you!  which  means  you  probably  will  be  on  that  list,  now  that  bandaging  you  up  is  no  longer  at  the  TOP  of  it. “          she  makes  sure  to  step  without  the  usual  care  to  avoid  noise.  avoiding  the  rug,  she  steps  on  the  creaky  floorboards,  one  hand  moving  up  his  arm,  hovering  on  his  shoulder,  then  cupping  his  jaw  GENTLY.          “ by  the  way,  i  DEFINITELY  would’ve  kicked  you  out  if  you  tried  the  tennessee  line  on  me. “

   contagious  laughter  makes  his  chest  wobble  with  a  low,  cheerful  chuckle.  at  least  she  liked  it,  rather  than  cringing  and  giving  him  an  immediate  no.  gloved  hands  pull  the  horned  mask  from  his  head  and  hastily  fix  his  hair  as  best  as  possible.  nothing  but  a  small  bruise  beginning  to  form,  just  below  his  lip,  earned  from  a  tough  night’s  work.  evidently  he’s  proud;  his  chest  seems  to  puff  up  when  she  notices  he’s  not  bleeding  out  over  her  floor.    “i tried my best.”  comes  his  cheeky  reply,  smirk  curving  the  edge  of  his  lips.  his  ears  track  her  steps,  judge  how  close  she  is.  the  moment  she’s  in  range  his  hand  finds  her  waist,  encourages  her  in  close,  until  she’s  touching  his  jaw  and  he  leans  into  her  warm  palm.   “i spent all night deciding what line to use. very glad i didn’t go with option two.”  smirk  turns  into  a  soft  grin  and  then  it  fades,  head  tilts,  and  tongue  dampens  his  lips.  his  free  hand  lifts  and  he  unstraps  his  glove  and  tugs  it  off  with  his  teeth  then  simply  drops  it.  now  bare  fingertips  find  her  face  and  trace  her  cheekbone  with  feather-light  touches.

   her  advances  caught  him  off  guard.  so  sudden,  so  desperate  for  his  touch  that  she  practically  pounced  the  moment  he  walked  through  the  door.  of  course  he’d  never  deny  her,  so  his  hand  cradles  her  jaw  as  their  lips  work  against  one  another.  as  soon  as  they  both  need  a  moment  to  breathe  he  pulls  back,  arm  around  her  middle,  to  question  her;   “are you okay?”  curious  as  to  what  has  triggered  this  fever  within  her,  but  he  isn’t  trying  to  bid  against  himself  so  he  leans  back  in,  offers  her  one  more  loving  kiss  to  her  bottom  lip  in  hopes  his  question  will  not  ruin  the  heat  of  the  moment.

   “tease you?”  matthew  repeats  in  a  low  murmur.  his  head  tilts  towards  thor,  a  smile  creeping  onto  his  face.  “is it that easy?”  words  begin  to  wobble  with  a  lighthearted  chuckle.  a  hand  slides  down  over  his  abs,  feeling  over  the  ridges,  and  then  fingers  sneak  underneath  the  waistband  of  light  grey  sweatpants,  freeing  the  path  for  his  hand.  he  palms  himself  subtly  with  a  challenging  twitch  of  his  eyebrow.   “where did you say you were going?”
