i need to make this post because we’re three hours away from the first polls closing in the united states federal election, and if i don’t do it now i’m just gonna start anxiety-chugging a bottle of pinot, so.
Some of you are already aware, but maybe some of you aren’t: my best friend, my soulbuddy, my sister from another mister, @reserve / Chloe has been working tirelessly (and holy fuck fuck fuck do i mean tirelessly) over the past month+ for the Clinton campaign. She’s been all over the country, met hundreds of people, learned a thousand new skills, and worked for extremely long hours making sure that Hillary and the rest of her team were able to have the most flawless, smooth, and effective public rallies, meet-and-greets, and private fundraisers possible.
She has sacrificed an immense amount of sleep, taken leave from her own job, and been separated from her husband, her sweet chubby slobbery dog, and her loved ones in nyc for weeks and weeks now—all so she could devote herself one-million-percent for a campaign and a presidential candidate she believes in, and not just because Hillary Clinton isn’t Donald Trump. Chloe first met the Clintons when she was a young girl, and she has always believed in Hillary’s progressivism, her true devotion to public service, and her iron-clad ability to continue to fight for what she believes is the best version of America. I know I’m not speaking out of turn when I say this has been a huge honor for Chloe to work so closely and so effectively for Clinton’s presidential campaign.
That being said, I would like you to join me in sending Chloe our support and congratulations, and our thanks—if you love her work, her blog, her support of fandom, her selfies, or literally anything she does, time to give her a shout-out and say “thank you!” and “we love you!”
Hey Chloe! No matter the result tonight, thank you for everything. It was an honor to cast my vote today for a woman, not just because of who Hillary Clinton is, but also maybe even more so because there are women like you who have worked so hard to support her. I’m so proud of you.
