But, you have to understand… You HAVE TO UNDERSTAND. Kung fu movie fight scenes (of which I have literally seen tens of thousands) are not about strength and they’re not about technique. If they were, you’d just kick a dude in the balls and be done with it. They’re about precision, control, and flow. They’re about TIMING. They’re about grace but also power. Not real power, but LOOKING powerful. Watch her hand movements, watch the way they land, the impact (which you have to remember IS NOT REAL IMPACT). LOOK AT THE TIMING, THE PRECISION. Michelle Yeoh is one of the best to EVER DO IT. I have watched so many women and men fail to capture even a tenth of what she is able to make look effortless (AT 60 MUTHAFUCKING YEARS OLD, MIND YOU). She is truly a gift, and I could spend another 45 years talking about this gifset alone. She’s only gotten more confident and better. That clip from the second to last one is Master Z: Ip Man Legacy, and the movie was meh, but look at the way she punches, LOOK AT IT. Closed fist, strong, straight. Look at her movements, look how one flows into the next, LOOK A T THE SPEED. Yeah, it’s choreo, but look at it Loooooooook. She is one of the greatest to ever do the thing on god, I’m telling y'all. PLEASE BELIEVE ME.

I have been watching her do this since about 1994, and I have never regretted a SECOND of it.
