Headcanon: Dirk has flashbacks
I love this because they actually filmed a Blackwing flashback that would’ve gone into the “let’s do an experiment” scene in Very Erectus. So it’s entirely believable that Dirk’s having traumatic flashbacks left, right and center (even if I’d like to hope that they lessen in frequency after the stream of creation gives him Todd and Farah).
