pet peeve: str8 ppl being like “finally” when lgbt+ ppl come out and/or announce they’re dating someone of their own gender and how they’ve known along and “it took him ages to realise that” about a gay man like shut the fuck up you have NO idea about what it involves being lgbt+ like firstly realising you’re not straight/cis, dealing with that – the amounts of internalised homo/transphobia you have is endless, society’s ideas and expectations, questioning how this newfound discovery will change your life and your relations to people around you, your family, friends, coworkers, then actually deciding to come out! an act of such bravery, that takes such strength, something you’re never done doing, you have to decide every day, every time you meet a new person, if it’s worth it, you don’t know how people will react, to weigh pros and cons and is it worth it?

it is a constant struggle, it is never ending, it is dealing with the knowledge that you are going to be HATED for being yourself – you constantly have to choose between being SAFE and being yourSELF – and str8 ppl come here reducing all this to nothing, talking abt how y'all have known all along as if your greatest talent isn’t to completely erase the possibility that anyone around you could be anything but straight, do not talk to me, don’t give me that “finally” bullshit y'all don’t know fucking shit
