Hi, could you show me what Alex thinks about fans/fandom? I'm kind of new here, and I haven't seen any of his opinions on the subject! Thank you

Hello & welcome, anon! 😊 Thank you for your question!

Although most of these interviews are not recent and I did not have any of them saved, I did my best to retrieve some statements.

So, to start there's this interview from BT.dk (posted January 8th 2023), where the following can be read:

There's also this headline, posted on Femina.dk (April 4th 2023), which reads:

Then, in another interview from Connery.dk (posted April 28th 2022), we can read Alex's opinion on his approach to social media, as well as the differences between his international & Danish fanbase:

Last but not least, there's also this excerpt from Heartbeats.dk (January 29th 2021), in which Alex expresses his frustration with social media, but also recognizes the benefits granted by a big following:

Note that the links refer to the English versions of the interviews (translated by Google), for accessibility purposes. Plus, the presented screenshots are examples of statements said by Alex during said interviews, but as we know, headlines tend to be sensationalist, so I can only recommend to read the whole interviews, to better understand them in context. 😊 I'd like to finish by also recommending @happypeachwhispers, who has translated a variety of interviews/podcasts, which provide some more insight into Alex's point of view (this post of them also summarizes it pretty well). And as always, if anyone would like to share some more interviews in which Alex speaks about this subject, you're more than welcome to do so!

I hope this was helpful. 😊💖

First of all, it's been a while since I've came across a page where fans can vent about our favorite viking so thank you for that.

I read some of the asks you received and I noticed most of them are about a certain lack of personal touch in what he shares with his audience and I think I can add my two cents about that, since I translated many hours of his interviews and I have an insight of his way of thinking. You know, I think he feels in a safer environment when it comes to Danish press so he shared more. Of course it's my opinion but I can definitely say he just doesn't care about an international career, never hoped to make it big overseas and never wanted for it. He spoke an awful lot about his anxiety and i think that plays a big role when it comes to personal and professional choices. I went over hundreds of pages about how he's very much aware and reads complaints about how he's distant and strictly professional. He specifically said "for some reason people care about me but I don't really give them anything to care for". And he's ok with that. He also spoke a lot about his ( toxic dare I say? ) relationship with fame and how at what was supposed to be the height of his career he felt very very close to jumping off his penthouse balcony. It's heartbreaking, and the complexity of what's going on in his mind will never meet fans' expectations I'm afraid.

Thank you so much! And thank you for your translations, they've been an amazing contribution to the fandom! 😊

I remember reading the interview you mentioned at the end of your ask. It truly was heartbreaking. And as much as we all love Alex as an actor and wish the best for his career, we have to respect his choices. Like that saying, "if something costs your mental health, then the price is too high".

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this! 💖
