How old is Levi?

My sister and I were really bored this past summer at like, 3AM, and decided we wanted to figure out how old Levi really is. Isayama has stated he’s “older than 30” and in his “early 30s”, but that’s it. Most of the fandom writes him off as 34-35 during the main story, making him as old as 39 now. We don’t really agree. This all is just theory so don’t take it seriously, but I think it’s pretty well thought out?

Uri Reiss inherited the Founding Titan in 829. At some point during his 13 years with the titan, Kenny and Uri met. It can be assumed that Kenny found Levi and his mother shortly after meeting Uri. So what we need to figure out to determine Levi’s age is…

How old do you think Levi was here? While we know Levi is naturally small and was incredibly malnourished here, I can’t see him being 14, the minimum age for him to be the popular 35. Eren and the others were 15 during the main story and were 12 when the enrolled in the Survey Corps. Eren and Mikasa were 9 when they killed the people who murdered Mikasa’s family. He just looks and acts too young to me. I assume that he’s 11 at a maximum here, and more likely like… 8. But that’s just my opinion. I crossed out things older than 11 in my chart, but you can ignore the line if you think he could have been, for example, 12. 

Either way, find the age you think he is here, and the column with the year you think it was when Kenny found him. Move up… That’s how old he is.

So, if you think Kenny most likely met Uri for the first time the same year that Uri got the Founding Titan (829), went to find Kuchel shortly after, and that Levi was 11 when he was found, Levi is 32. If you think he was found in 830, and he was 9, Levi is 29. Heck, if you think he was found in 831 and was 7, Levi could be as young as 26. That breaks canon, but I mean, it’s plausible based on the timeline. Him being younger is possible too… I just didn’t add it to the sheet given the canon that Isayama has given.

tl:dr: Levi is 32 max at the start, making him 36 at a maximum now. He’s most likely 30-31 during the main story, and him being younger than that makes sense too.
