having a broken air conditioner at the peak of summer is less than ideal. you’ve already reached out to your landlord about fixing it but he won’t be able to do so for a couple of days, which is even less ideal. you only have money for so many fans and even then, all they do is blow around the warm air. that leaves you and your boyfriend to sit and bake for the time being. the next couple of days are looking like they’ll be filled with cold showers and refreshing beverages to hold you over until your precious ac is back in working condition.

it isn’t unusual for you and issei to spend your weekends lounging on the couch of your shared living room, but the heat has left the two of you uncharacteristically sluggish. your legs are tangled with his, each of your heads resting on the respective armrests of the uncomfortable piece of furniture. the shades of the windows are drawn so that the sun won’t add to the already blazing temperature of your apartment. you aren’t sure if it’s doing much, but if it helps even a little, you’re more than willing to sit in the dark. 

barely lifting your head up, you take a peek at mattsun. his arm is draped over his eyes, sweaty curls sticking to his forehead. you can tell he’s hot just by looking at him. it seems as though his tactic for keeping cool is staying absolutely still. while you aren’t opposed to that idea, you have one of your own that you think might be a tad bit more effective. “i’m getting a popsicle. you want one?”
