I just remembered something that made me feel very sad. RJ never had a chance to meet his big brother Carl.

For YEARS I had heard about TWD but had convinced myself that there was no way I would like a show about zombies. Too spooky. Too gory. Too much.

So imagine my surprise when I see promo for TOWL and it's marketed as an "epic love story."

... a love story??? Sign me the fuck up, if nothing else just to see how they could pull it off.

So I started slow by watching recaps of the first couple episodes and from reactions, I could tell something was there. So I watched TWD-specific recaps and reactions and basically had a grounded understanding of the world and the people. I was hooked.

Then episode 4 came along and I signed up for AMC+ to watch it live so Danai could get her credit. And y'all.

Y'all.

Y'ALL.

That started it all. I went back and watched the first three episodes of TOWL (after watching E4 an obscene number of times) and then I started TWD.

And B*TCH.

Lori.

I have many thoughts that I'll share in due time (depending on my mood—that's typically how I write things and where my focus goes), but the main one is this:

The scene where Lori incites Rick is biblical.

She is the snake whispering in the garden.

She literally curls herself around him.

She whispers (hisses) in his ear.

She plants the seed of knowledge.

She plants the seed of fear.

She shows him a paradise where his family is safe. Where his family is his...

If only...

Because the paradise Lori tempts him with comes with a cost.

And when Rick pays it, it costs him everything.

His friendship.

His marriage.

His son's view of him.

His group's view of him.

His view of himself.

Because the Rick Grimes we as viewers know him to be wasn't the Rick Grimes he knew himself to be. (A whole 'nother essay can be written on his mental health journey during both TWD and TOWL)

That is, until...

Until...

Until a samurai shows up with baby formula. With strength and tenderness. With protection and grace.

There's much to be said about the true role Lori played in his life pre-, during-, and post- her life and death in the ZA, but this is key:

She was always going to be the downfall of The Brave Man because she weaponized his bravery, care, protection, and love as her own coping mechanism.

And in doing so, she wasn't able to allow—or empower—him to find his own coping mechanism, too.

i need Danai and Andy to confirm that there’s gonna be some kind of continuation of TOWL because all I do is spend time thinking of what richonne might be doing now that they’re reunited with their kids and i need a real answer.

my current Richonne obsession: the future richonne baby that is undoubtedly on the way

i can understand why some people want richonne to have time with their kids then choose to have another child. it would be beautiful and intentional which is something that matters when it comes to richonne. however I’ve come to like the idea of michonne being pregnant already. so my solution to this to get the best of both worlds is that michonne doesn’t know that she’s pregnant yet …

most women don’t know that they’re pregnant until about 8 weeks (more or less since it depends). let’s say michonne is early stages like 2-3 weeks by the time that they get back to Alexandria and doesn’t know yet. richonne spends some time with their kids and they go on dates and they get caught up on what they missed. one of these dates they talk about how much they love their family and how it would be nice to experience being parents together from start to finish. and since we know rick is a romantic, who is very madly in love with michonne, i can just see him already have it all planned and pictured in his head. he expresses to michonne that he wants to be there to get her whatever she’s craving, to see the baby on the sonogram and hear the heartbeat, read /talk to her belly, see their baby be born this time, hear their first word, first steps, and just all the things they didn’t get to do together with rj. michonne agrees (of course) and says she’d love for them to experience that too. they both agree though that as much as theyd love to have another baby, they can wait a little on actively trying so they can get more settled in since they’ve only been home for about a month. a couple weeks go by and michonne is realizing it may be time to take a little pregnancy test.

i can’t decide what I’d prefer in terms of the reveal. on one hand, I think it’d be cute for michonne to include rick every step of the way. she tells him she thinks she’s pregnant and he’s there for them to see the results of the test together. on the other hand, I think it’d be cute for michonne to take the test herself and then plan some kind of special way to tell rick. i’ve loved the idea of surprising your partner with the news since I was a kid and saw becky from full house try to tell jesse she was pregnant by making him a dinner that was baby themed (she had baby carrots, baby corn, etc), if i remember correctly becky was nervous to tell jesse cause they hadnt planned it but with richonne that’s obviously not the case. I think it’d be cute for michonne to excitedly plan something intimate for just her and rick so she can tell him they’re having a baby.

or maybe even a secret third option idk lol but either way i think almost any execution of a richonne pregnancy reveal that is trauma-free is what they deserve and what we deserve.

i need amc to throw soooooo much money at Danai, Andy, and Scott and promise them everything they could want to continue this story. alternatively maybe amc can contract the three of them to write romcoms outside the twd that stars Danai and Andy. just saying anything at this point 😭😭 but i just need them back on my screen happy! and i need it real bad. real real bad

was chilling in my (kia’s) bedroom back in 2016 when i put this together. not sure WHY i went through previous seasons’ dvd covers, but when i realized that michonne joining rick in this way was a standout, i thought “they are so profound in every way!”

Domestic Grimes 2.0 - Richonne sighting

It wasn't unusual to see Rick and Michonne walking their kids to school every morning since their return. But for a while, it was only Rick seeing the kids off to school. Until one morning, the Grimes Family finally emerged with a very rotund mama Michonne.

The doctor finally released Michonne from bed rest. Morning sickness is no fun! Mama and the twins will be fine.

(We knew this was going to happen, right? We weren't surprised. I mean they were going at it like rabbits.....) I'm sure the community wasn't surprised either!

This was inspired by @blacklitchick fic ME & YOU fic where Michonne took a long nap --about an hour and a half nap (due to their mid-morning delight). I was thinking, it could have been that, or ........
