I'd save the world but that's a bit above my pay grade.

i think there's a certain tragedy to the protagonists of long running murder mysteries. it's one thing to seek out cases to solve, another entirely to have death follow your every step. just by going on vacation you have doomed someone to die. you're just a quirky little detective, but the plot hungers

found an abandoned treehouse on my walk in the woods today. the log that used to be a ladder into it has fallen over. couldn't see a way to get up.

went back to the treehouse today and managed to climb in.

gazing in wonder at the wikipedia page for meander

Out of all the terminological categories in the English language, geological terminology is the most intensely poetic; who could fail to be moved by metamorphism and orogenesis? There is something awesome and mythic about it.

Anyway as I was reading this article I recalled a dim, possibly inaccurate memory of Chinese mythology where four dragons transformed themselves into the four rivers that flow through China.

I've been taking walks beside the creek. The creek has "an erosion problem" as it was once described to me. I notice on one bank the creek cuts underneath the roots of the trees and threatens to collapse the bank, and on another it deposits a low, broad beach of broken stones and mud.

The recent history of humankind would mislead us to think that erosion is a linear process of degradation, but the article for meander tells me that rivers move, the loops in their channels steadily rolling along the river's length, like the slithering of a snake over a time scale of thousands of years...

A river is a kind of dragon.

Me: “You can’t ascribe human morality to non-human animals because they do not share our particular cognition and culture.”

Tumblr: “Why do you hate animism, huh? Why do you think humans are a separate species from other animals, you human supremacist?”

Me: “You wouldn’t marry a warthog because you know that its cognition is different from human cognition, it is a different species with different abilities and emotions, and it does not share your understanding of marriage and consent and culture. It’s different from you and you know this.”

Tumblr: “Well humans don’t all speak the same language, so…”

Of all the ridiculous arguments I’ve gotten into on Tumblr dot hell this one. This one might be. Might be the wildest.

I’M LOSING MY MIND

“I’m trying to establish whether or not you think a sand hill crane is interchangeable with a human boyfriend”

I think there's got to be like a Robin Hood corollary to any pro-pirating stance in that if/when you can afford to, spend the money to buy from small/local/independent art.

Some big top 100 musician/major studio whatever doesn't need your money, but the $10 on Bandcamp for the local band you saw at the bar's new album or your friend's soaps on Etsy or that indie movie playing at the cinema when it comes out on DVD or literally almost any author's book that's not like already an NYT Bestseller or community theater producing new works by living artists. It really can make a difference to those people.

A super rough Zelink sketch ❤️

---- Not at all what I was planning to post today, I usually clean and color my rough sketches before releasing them into the internets. But life happened, oh well. Now you now what all my drawing looks like when I start my creation process. Should I clean it so that we can make a before/after comparison? Cheers
