TW:W - Grombrindal Revamp Idea

So, Total War Warhammer 3 has been announced, and while we can look forward to new races, it is also an opportunity for old races to get revamped and improved (cough cough Beastmen). And I think a potential candidate for a reworking is our favorite, shall we say, Blessed Dwarf Lord.

So I made this post in 2021, and just recently we saw Grombrindal’s status in Total War Warhammer 3. Decided to do a little review of how much I got right.

(Also for reference’s sake I haven’t played TWW3 yet, or soon much footage of Grombrindal’s ’s faction)

So first off; I was right about Grombrindal getting his own faction, but wrong about it being a horde faction like Nakai the Wanderer’s. Which is a shame, but what can ya do. At least it keeps it inline with the rest of the Dwarf factions, avoiding the issues Nakai had.

Nothing about Grombrindal being summoned by other Dwarf factions or mechanics around coming to their aid.

No new Ranger Lords, which, shame. Josef Bugman when?

His victory conditions are probably standard, if likely tilted towards “Killing all Druchii”.

So I was wrong about his starting position; he starts in Naggaroth, right next to his old pally pal Malekith. ALTHOUGH two of my suggested starting positions, Spine of Sotek and the Southern World’s Edge Mountains (particularly Karak Zorn) were used as the starting locations for Ironbrow’s Expedition’s (former in Eye of the Vortex, latter in Mortal & Immortal Empires), so I’m taking it as half a win.

I was close with my guesses for the faction name, which is nice.

And I did suggest new Dwarf factions for Naggaroth, so I guess I did get that right too.

Overall? Not a lot correct, but still not bad. Guess I’ll have to wait and see how the faction plays myself. Khazukan Kazakit-ha!

Bringing this back, just because I guess "Horde Dwarf Army" before it was cool.

..13th? 20th day? im in the time loop. me and my horse have not left the mountain road since we first came here. all four of us have died multiple times. i mount my horse. the hiker and driver join me. we're getting out of the time loop

My counselor once told me to make sure I wasn’t doing things to distract myself from the boredom rather than try to sate it. I feel its one of the most important things he ever said to me.

When I’m distracting myself from the boredom, I read or game excessively so I don’t feel the emptiness of boredom. It’s a short term thing, and it only staves the boredom as long as I’m doing the thing.

When I’m sating myself from the boredom, I pursue things I am genuinely interested in and so find myself feeling fulfilled and happier for a longer period of time. Even if I stop doing it temporarily, I don’t immediately fall apart as I would with the distraction.
