They really bullied Jensen into liking this ending didn't they??? He said he originally hated it and then the writers had to talk him into it. And you know what Jensen?? I'm so sorry bby. You deserved better than that bullshit.

So basically Cas is so sure that Dean doesn't love him back - "something I know I can't have" - and Dean wasn't prepared to hear this confession, because he's too broken to think someone could ever be in love with him. But Cas is. The love of his life. It was mutual and Dean is lost.

Am I the only one who doesn’t really think this episode was queerbaiting or bury your gays?
To me, Cas’ confession was a cliffhanger. We heard his side of things, and I’m hopeful that Dean will give us his own side in the next two weeks.
And anyhow, this whole scene showed us a very healthy version of happiness. Cas could find happiness in sharing his own (very human) emotions. And his happiness didn’t depend on whether or not Dean reciprocated. That’s a huge character step. From thinking he’s only valid when he’s useful...to knowing he’s valid just because he’s alive and he fEELS?? That’s beautiful in my eyes.
I’m excited to see where they might go with Dean’s side. Yes, I’ll be heartbroken if Dean doesn’t reciprocate - especially because I want the bi rep so badly that my soul aches. But either way, Cas said Fuck Masculine Posturing I’m Gonna Tell the Man I Love How I Feel and that’s inspiring to me.
I know we’ve had a seriously depressing line of watching Bury Your Gays tropes...it really fuckin hurts. And I know we don’t have confirmation that Misha is in the last two episodes, but I’ve always expected TFW to die in the series finale. Not just Cas or Dean, but Sam and Jack. I really think a couple or all of them will find peace in heaven (a new and improved heaven. Not the corrupt memorex shit). And with Cas being ripped away, I wouldn’t be surprised if 1) Dean endeavors to get him back, revealing his feelings in the process or 2) Dean goes to heaven and Cas turns up, having been saved by Jack or finding his way out.
So I’m not sure it’s really bury your gays if everyone dies. And even if everyone doesn’t die...there are a number of different ways Cas could be in one more scene.
Aka, please don’t give up if you’re upset or heartbroken right now. I’m sorry if this episode brought anger and betrayal, but we’ve come so far and I, for once, have hope about this. Feel your feels tonight but remember...the end isn’t here yet.
Dean Winchester would never say something homophobic. That’s canonical. You may not like how that episode ended or how Jensen acted in that scene, and that’s fine, but do not slander Dean Winchester who has a heart big enough to fit the whole world into. (Additionally do no accuse Jensen of being a homophobe. Jensen is absolutely not. He let Misha shine in that scene.)
I know what happened on supernatural today and all the memes related to it are hilarious but in all seriousness, this ship meant something to a lot of people,maybe even the majority of the fandom, and seeing it being dragged and laughed upon by basically the whole ass internet, and especially by those who haven’t even watched a single episode of the show or stopped watching years ago has gotta hurt.
like I know spn has always been called “the crackhead show” or “the worst show ever” but you gotta understand that people get attached to characters. especially those characters that they’ve spent years and years laughing and crying with. we do know that this is all fictional, but there are people who’ve been watching this ship, rooting for them for 15 years. its given them hope. supernatural has been a comfort show for thousands, including me. believe it or not, the show has helped a lot of people, and will continue to.
so please: don’t shame anyone or burst their bubble if you see them being actually happy upon seeing the ship being made canon, or for simply watching the show.

On Cas– almost beatific. Eyes open, heart full– somehow happier than we’ve ever seen him. BOOM! The warding fritzing, SPARKLING– about to come down. Cas pays it no mind.
Stop saying Jensen is homophobic because of how he played his character, dean bottles up his emotions, obviously he is going to act the way he did when his best friend confesses his love to him, unexpectedly I might add! Dean “sobbed” literal captions said “[sobbing]” at the end, he was hurt, he was confused, and he had every right to react the way he did, his best friend (and probably the love of his life) confessed his love to dean seconds before he died, I’d react the same fucking way!
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: when you've lived your entire life crushing down any vulnerable emotion, sometimes mircoexpressions are all you can do in a situation like that. There's just a mental wall that goes up and written on it is "you cannot feel this right now. If you do you will break. You have to feel this later."
A good example of this: everyone is saying they were crying during the episode. I didn't. I couldn't. The emotion was there but immediately got shelved. Now I'm alone staying up late, my partners are asleep, NOW I'm crying. Happens in therapy too.
Dean often expresses a lot without it being obvious. He always has. Don't even fucking @ me.

I haven't seen the (season /episode) yet, but people are saying that Jensen looks like he was to be homophobic in the episode. I am just confused as why people would say that? And that DESTIEL IS CANNON?! I can only watch the seasons when they are streaming on Netflix.

My opinion his character (Dean) he’s way to stunned to shook by all of it to even react and the way he break down after. He’s broken. He losted Cas his best friend and his love. Honestly I would be the same if anyone would say that to me.
