That’s got to be only known deaths though, right? Which is terrifying, cuz Ebola and those damned sharks are hardly capable of killing without causing a media ruckus. The police, on the other hand...
On the Texas Shooting Tonight:
The major news outlets are all reporting on a shooting that occurred outside an event in Texas today (Sunday) night and they’ve got the facts; but they’re twisting them. All that anyone seems to know is that the shooting occurred outside an American Freedom Defense Initiative Meeting and that two men (possibly the shooters) are dead and that, while no one else seems to have died, one security guard was injured.
The supposed story as it’s being spun, however, is that the gunmen were two Muslims protesting a ‘free speech’ event because it included a contest for drawing the Prophet Mohammad. This might or might not be true, BUT this is what they’re decidedly glossing over:
-- the group hosting the event (the American Freedom Defense Initiative) is an extremist anti-Islam group which has been labeled a hate group. They’re also known as SIOA-- Stop Islamization of America.
-- the ‘drawing contest’ was a ‘cartoon’ contest. whatever that means.
--There’s no proof so far that the two men killed by the police were actually the shooters
Let’s assume they probably were though. Even so:
-- There’s no proof they were rioting against this particular event.
-- There’s really no proof the gunmen were Muslim
It’s too early to tell what is and isn’t true in regards to the shooting. My only point is: This story is being skewed in a very obvious way and some skepticism wouldn’t go amiss.

Other topics that are probably not relevant when talking about Hillary Clinton:
- her maternal instinct (or supposed lack thereof,)
- sexist insults
- her femininity (or lack thereof)
- her marriage to Bill Clinton
-support she’s gotten (supposedly only as a result of being married to Bill Clinton)
- Bill Clinton
The side of the Baltimore riots you won’t see on TV:
On Monday, the media was quick to paint a single picture of Baltimore: a chaos scene of violence and mayhem filled with images of looting, rioting, the burning of a CVS and the torching of a police car. But on the ground, a very different story unfolded — and these remarkable photos and videos are proof.

I was going to be all ‘oh this fandom’ but like for fuck’s sake:
the lesson for today, class, is when to use epithets rather than names or pronouns — and when not to.
USE EPITHETS:
- when the character’s name is unknown, so there’s really no other way to refer to them:
Two goons in suits...
Those sex scenes where it’s like “John moaned as the detective---” and that’s it, that’s all I need to say, like YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE
Any one of these would have been an improvement

Oh my god, look at that face.

It’s genuinely concerning that these are starting to make more sense to me than the show itself
