Each of them jumped aboard and manned the oars as they stabilized. The Seer was tucked away at the back of the vessel under the shelter constructed there. He was nestled beside the leader of the clan of Hale, Derek, as always.
It had been many moons since the raid in Szczecin when the Hale clan pillaged and plundered in the Slavic lands. One of the most memorable days for the Hale clan. When they had discovered the Seer living as a vagabond. Mieczysław, the last of the Stilinski clan, was in the village that was sacked but was not of it. He had begged the Varulver for his life. When Derek had first met his eyes and caught his scent, he vowed in that moment that nothing and no one would ever part them. He had tested the clan's bonds at a time when they were at their weakest. In the end, it was Mika's presence and persistence that brought them closer together.
