I used to get hate anons quite frequently but then I started getting super liberal with the block button and let me tell you less than a week later the amount of hate anons got down to like 1% of what they were, which is what originated my theory that there was like six people that made bullying me their full time hobby and I sleep very well at night knowing that to this day some of them are probably still trying to bully me to tears and I am just not getting their mail lol

Just for anyone still thinking the civil rights movement was “SO long ago!”

Fred Hampton would be 51 this year if police hadn’t executed him at age 21.

Ruby Bridges is 65.

MLK would be 91 (he was assassinated at 39).

Malcom X would be 95 (he was assassinated at 39).

Claudette Colvin (the first Black woman known to refuse to give up her seat AT 15) is only 80.

Mary Louise Smith is 83.

Fred Gray is 89.

EMMETT TILL WOULD BE 79 (he was murdered at age 14 because of a white woman’s lie).

Ask yourself how old your grandparents are. Hell, how old your PARENTS are. How old are the people in most government seats right now?

Miss me with that bullshit of “It’S sO lOnG aGo. Things are better now.” These people and so many more who aren’t able to be here would be distraught at what is STILL fucking happening today. To say things like that is just willfully turning your head away from the injustices that we see today! That’s the that on that.

“How old are people in most government seats right now?” <-!!!! THIS!! People don’t fully digest THIS! MANY many people in the most powerful positions in government WERE alive to hate MLK. They were building early political careers in opposition to the Civil Rights movement, actively oppressing Black people in lower positions of government, fighting to keep segregation alive, etc. And they’re STILL doing it!

I feel like this is the adult test. You’ve been living on your own or with roomies for a few years now, you should have figured it out by now. How many of these things do you actually have

I will probably need this at some point in my life. Unfortunately that point is not now and I will probably have forgotten about it by the time I need it…

Forget the “Roman doesn’t have legs” debate.

thatd make sense but in ‘alone on valentines day’ you can see his pants for a split second and theyre BLACK

thomas please we need an answer

Well that was in season one, right? Maybe the updated version of his outfit had white pants? It would make sense because Roman’s whole thing of the light vs. dark/ good vs. evil was a lot more prominent in season two than it was In season one

maybe yeah

They’re black because as we all know Remus and Roman share one pair of legs. Seriously though black goes with everything and he wants to be prepared for an outfit change at a moment’s notice. That’s my opinion.

he wears a black shirt underneath his costume but it’s not actually a shirt it’s a jumpsuit that’s all black so he doesn’t have pants but they’re black.

Now we’re cooking with gas.

Here for Jumpsuit Roman

Ok that is not even close to the voice my brain decided to give you when I read your posts.

Every new piece of information about OP is a total surprise.

Perhaps it’s the unsettling nature of some of the more popular dream posts, but I always pictured someone like Orson Welles in a dark study with a single desk lamp, cigar in hand and glass of scotch nearby and now knowing it’s someone with an anime voice telling me about furry police encounters makes all of this far more surreal.

It's always amazing when #dreampai graces us with her life but I couldnt help myself when I saw that orson Welles comparison.

I’m glad this is the version of this thread I came across of rather than the foot fetish one

People will say that they’re all about respecting sa survivors until it comes to victims of incest. Will expand later.

Overall I’ve found that people, most likely subconsciously, don’t think that incest can be traumatic. When I told my therapist that I was sexually abused she was so supportive. She told me that it wasn’t my fault. That what happened doesn’t define me. That I can always tell her about this stuff without fear of judgment or rejection. That whatever happened, my trauma is valid. Then I told her that it was from someone in my family, and her tone switched immediately. All of a sudden it couldn’t have actually been that bad. What I was describing most be an overexaggeration. “It’s normal for families to show their love in different ways,” she said. “There most have been a miscommunication.” She didn’t listen to me anymore. I told her the worst of what happened in graphic detail, but none of that mattered. We were related. There’s no way that actually happened. And this is far from an isolated incident. I got blocked by one of my favorite cosplayers, one that was vocal about protecting minors and respecting triggers, for saying that incest survivors getting triggered by the twins, even if they are supposed to be satire or an act, is s valid reason to not watch ohshc. Both online and irl, people who vocally opposed to joking about sexual abuse would make incest jokes and even joke about my experiences explicitly. There’s a widespread belief in our society that incest is funny or not a real issue. And most activists not only refuse to acknowledge that this is an issue, but get upset when you try to educate them on it. This belief keeps getting spread, and it actively keeps us from being believed, from getting treatment, from getting justice. This belief keeps us silent and lets our abusers go free.

If you aren’t an incest survivor you are legally obligated to reblog this

A few months ago I reblogged a post sharing Jazzy’s gofundme, a girl who was poisoned by her roommate, noting that she only had about half her goal despite the fund being up for several years. I saw a lot of people reblog that version; Just a month or so later when I checked her fund again it had been reached!! And tons of people still reblog it.

I think when people are just scrolling and they come across these posts they don’t check immediately and forget about it, seeing all the notes and assuming the fund is doing well- I think more people need this visualized to realize this person REALLY needs help.

We can’t let Lakeith continue to be punished in this repulsive system. Please make sure him and his fund get the attention Jazzy does and let’s do everything we can to get him to the goal!! We have to reunite him with his family by any means possible.

As of today ( Saturday, August 8th, 2020 ) Lakeith is $12,061 from his goal!!

Hey, unpopular opinion, apparently. But people don’t just “have pain for no reason” doctors say this all the time (especially to women and chronically ill people) and the truth is, Thats literally not possible. Even if your pains are psychosomatic (a word I hesitate to even use because of the way its used so often) there is a reason you are having those pains whether its mental illness, abuse, etc. If your doctor consistently tells you that “well some people just have pain for no reason” get a new doctor. That’s a doctor who is not going to give a shit what your actual symptoms or experiences are.

Avatar
kamorth

I just wanna add to clarify the psychosomatic thing.

That word DOES NOT MEAN you’re making it up. It doesn’t mean you’re imagining the symptom. What it means is that the symptom ISN’T DIRECTLY CAUSED BY ANY OF THE THINGS THAT WOULD NORMALLY CAUSE IT.

I fought to get a PCOS diagnosis for 2 and a half years. For the ENTIRE time I was fighting, I was dealing with 3 cysts that were not going away by themselves and eventually required surgery to remove. At one point close to the end of the battle, I suddenly went blind. I was visiting my parents and was standing on the veranda looking out over the tree we had planted in memory of my dog and suddenly I got one of the shooting pains that I was quite frankly used to at that point and my vision started to go dark. It was like the sun was setting while being completely hidden behind storm clouds but it was 2pm in the middle of Summer on a clear day. Within about 30 seconds I couldn’t see ANYTHING. I was 27 years old and I was screaming for my mother.

My mum raced me to her doctor (he was a 15 minute drive away as opposed to 45 minutes to the nearest hospital) and he quickly worked out that there was nothing wrong with my eyes and what had happened was totally unrelated to them. Then he said it was psychosomatic and I freaked out, yelling that I was NOT making this up and I definitely wasn’t imagining it. Very quickly he calmed me down and said he believed me and I had misunderstood. He explained that whatever was going on with my abdominal pains (he suggested PCOS which I hadn’t even heard of at that point) had been ignored for so long that my body was starting to do things other than the normal pain response to try to draw my attention to the problem. My sight going was my body basically jumping around in front of me going “HEY ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME HELLLOOOOOOO??????”

He gave me some prescription strength painkillers and my sight started to come back as soon as they started to kick in. About 45 minutes after it started I could see well enough to walk around without help and within a day and a half I was back to normal. On top of that I finally had a scan booked to figure out what the hell was causing all the pain.

Psychosomatic symptoms are NOT imagined or fabricated or happening for “no reason”. Experiencing them DOES NOT make you a liar. It makes you someone who has been battling with something serious for so long that your own body has started to get impatient with you.

I completely agree. Thank you for sharing this.

Psychosomatic symptoms are literally your body flipping random alarm switches just to get any alarm blaring because you’ve been ignoring the regular ones

I don’t usually add to posts but I thought it was important to add that this 100% goes for mental health, too.

When I was 18, only a few months after graduating from high school, I started having seizures. Serious, triggered at the drop of a hat, knock me unconscious for an hour or more and leave me dazed for days kind of seizures.

I was rushed to hospital two or three times within the space of a week after passing out in the middle of cooking dinner or talking with my family, but the hospital could not find anything wrong with me. I spent a week in the hospital in a planned admission, connected to an EEG monitor for 23 hours a day with the doctors hoping to catch my seizures in action and finally figure out what they were. I don’t know how many seizures I had during that week, but at the end of it, they said that even after all that, there was nothing wrong with me. After that, they sent me to a psychologist.

I was diagnosed with PNES - Psychogenic Non-Epileptic Siezures. Essentially, it was explained to me, I had been ignoring my anxiety and PTSD for so long that my body was acting out just like @kamorth ’s had. When they started treating me for anxiety and PTSD, my siezures eventually turned into panic or anxiety attacks, and then stopped altogether.

The moral of the story is don’t ignore pain. Whether it be physical, mental, whatever. Pain is your body’s way of telling you something is wrong and it has ways of making you listen to it eventually. Some of those ways are seriously disabling and once you get to that stage, it can be a long road to recovery.

Just because therapy might be helpful for some psychosomatic symptoms doesn’t mean it was fake. It means your treatment worked.

She had third degree burns on her genitals, needed a skin graft to repair the damage and was permanently disfigured, and left disabled for two years. Part of her original $20,000 claim was for her daughter's lost income while she cared for her. Also, there were 700 previous complaints of people being burned by McDonald's coffee, which they quietly paid off. They offered Liebeck $800.

Stella Liebeck was 79 years old at the time of the incident, and the settlement helped her pay for a live-in nurse as she was partially disabled for two full years after being so badly burned she went into shock. She passed away in 2004 with little to no quality of life per her own daughter. She originally sought $20,000 dollars to cover her eight day hospital stay (including skin graphs) and compensation for her daughter's lost wages after she spent three weeks providing round-the-clock care.

Incidently, liquids served at 190 degrees is capable of causing third degree burns--which cause severe, permanent damage all the way to the muscle layer--within 3 seconds of contact with human skin. If you have a strong stomach, you can even find photographic evidence of her wounds with a quick google search. This didn't stop almost every major news outlet perpetuating MacDonald's coordinated smear campaign against her. MacDonalds' justification for this was basically, well, all fast food is hot and we have better things to worry about. Literally. This deliberately manufactured overly litigious gold digger stereotype is still remembered today via the Stella Awards, which mocks all the "frivolous" lawsuits against your favorite brands. Named after a little old lady who was permanently disfigured and handicapped from a ridiculously dangerous product.

Classy.

Never, ever take a corporation's side over a private citizen when lawsuits are involved.

She eventually died under the care of a live-in nurse from infection complications due to the fact that the damage had to be treated repeatedly over multiple years. While being mocked *worldwide* and constantly hassled by the media. The last few years of this woman's life were a miserable hell because McDonald's was too cheap to pay her medical costs when she asked.

mcdonald’s is literally a billion-dollar corporation to which $20,000 would be less noticeable than me losing a half a penny

and that’s literally medical costs. medical costs, not “i want money hehehe” that’s “i wanted to live and now i’m facing lifelong debt because of something you did”

for fucks sake mcdonald’s

sickened and disappointed yet again by capitalism and all who support it and big multi billion dollar corporations who are too fucking greedy to pay an old woman’s medical bills.
