Summary: Shiro, a laid-back and absent-mindedly seductive umbrella craftsman, is (surprisingly) a close friend of Kojiro, a hot-blooded young police officer who stands against all things undisciplined. With their mutual knack for attracting trouble, the pair soon find themselves involved in a bloody and erotic thrill-ride in their off-kilter town full of equally off-kilter people. (from Mangafox)
[Shiro is the half-naked long-haired boy and Kojiro is the policeman with a cap and short hair.]
Spoilers ahead.
First impressions: Honestly, don’t look at the Mangafox cover man; it’s too misleading. At first I saw the picture and I was like? What weird art? (I’m a sucker for good art so I have to have good art to be interested.) Then I look at its summary and seriously, it couldn’t get me interested at all. But lies. The summary doesn’t even cover a part of the whole story. The backstory of Shiro was so mind-boggling and I love him more and more as the series progresses. The plot is quite intense for me, and at first it has Shiro and Kojiro solving crimes (mostly Shiro being super badass), and later venturing into Shiro’s backstory (from what I remembered, it’s been weeks).
What got me really started seriously reading the manga was the list on TV Tropes Ho Yay (Homoeroticism, yay!). Haha, I was a little desperate… I’ve seen some recommendations of it before, and once again, I was deterred by the page on Mangafox LOL. But when I started reading, I was hooked. I think I finished the posted chapters in 2 to 3 days? On school days? Yeah, say sorry to my grades but I love the manga.
ok but like when did self-sacrifice become synonymous with death? writers seem to have forgotten that people can make personal sacrifices for the greater good without giving their lives. plots about self-sacrifice and selflessness don’t always have to end in death. suffering doesn’t have to be mourning. you can create drama and emotional depth on your show without killing everyone. learn to explore the meaning of living rather than dying
Death. Is. NOT. The. Only. Way. To. Advance. The. Narrative.
Fun things to sacrifice for your loved ones in your free time that don’t include death and actually set up for a whole new season of high level drama:
- humanity (mostly applicable to sci-fi/supernatural genre) - memories (mostly applicable to sci-fi/supernatural genre) - love for that special someone (mostly applicable to sci-fi/supernatural genre) - emotions (mostly applicable to sci-fi/supernatural genre) - rank/position/ - yourself/your brain/your skills (give yourself over to bad guys and become their brainwashed agent so your loved ones live) - years of bloody ruthless traditions to make way for peace (hi lexa and fuck jroth tbh) - freedom (includes that of speech/mind/will) - your grandpa’s fortune - hell even material possessions have that girl sacrifice her goddamn house so they can pay off her gf’s student loans or whatever juST STOP KILLING CHARACTERS TO FURTHER YOUR PLOT
Other things to sacrifice:
- your most sought-after goal
- a strongly-held belief or conviction
- your own chance at happiness
True though it doesn't have to be death when it comes to a sacrifice. My favorite fiction to look to when I need ideas for sacrifices would be CLAMP. Anything by CLAMP is great.
An example would be Fai and Kurogane from Tsubasa Chronicles: Kurogane sacrificed his arm and blood to save Fai? And Fai traded his remaining magic for a new arm for Kurogane. Tsubasa and Kurofai was the thing that made me 100% obsessed with sacrifices.
Another one is Doumeki Shizuka and Watanuki from xxxHolic. I didn't actually read the manga so most of my information is from the wikia. Anyway: "Watanuki gets caught in a giant spiderweb and so Shizuka frees him by tearing apart the web causing the spider to curse his eye. When Watanuki learned what had happened, he got the same spider angry and so the spider's grudge shifted to Watanuki and let Shizuka free. Later on, Shizuka gives half of his right eye to Watanuki and so from then on, both share an eye. After giving away half of his eye, Shizuka's eyesight went from a 20/20 vision to a 10/20 vision and because of his bad sight in his right eye, he could no longer do archery, a sport in which he excelled in before." Like dude. That's really... gay... hahahha. I think archery is very important to him? And he sacrificed his eyesight T^T pretty amazing friend.
There are many more sacrifices you can find, but honestly? I still like death a lot. Granted, I don't like deaths when I read and I love angst with a happy ending. There are many other types of sacrifice that make your heart break. I think the best is the character sacrifices what he feel is the most important to him - not what we think is the most important thing in our lives - and it could be as simple as peace and quiet (maybe the character joins a battle he would otherwise stayed clear of?) or a hobby he loves a lot (mostly sports anime if you ask me) and could be more gruesome like body parts, body functions, power etc. What I normally come across in stories would be revenge? Like someone gave up his revenge because he didn't want to harm the other person, and that's like a belief/goal/reason to live? Or if I read historical it would be the throne... But my favorite might be happiness and love. Sacrificing the rest of his life and his love so that you can live happily even though you don't love him back ohoho yeah that's great angst. Or even if you do love each other probably there are conflicts (or when you are at opposite sides) that forces the both of you to sacrifice your love and chance to be together so that the other would be safe 😌 hahaha I just love angst.
But when I write? The more deaths the better. Oops. I'm morbid that way. (Of course it's not like GOT or anything but if they can die I'll be happy to kill them off if it will create lots of angst.)
Summer Anime 2016
This summer we have so many anime with an all-male cast, I was so happy I decided to to a rec/ranking/review/summary. Note: I only watch anime with mostly males I’m sorry it’s just what I like lol so this list may not match yours. (I cannot stand female leads - except maybe Gintama? - because they will escalate into romantic relationships and they annoy me to no end. It’s like the only purpose of females is romance and I hate that.) And a warning is that I’m kind of shallow so I normally look at the guys’ looks and then their character. But good character and relationship developments are definitely essential to me too. 1. Fukigen na Mononokean
I’ve rec it so many times I feel like I’m part of the official publicity comm but it’s really good :) My favourite character is Abeno cause he’s really adorable and tsundere (?) haha. If you like youkai, friendship and touching moments, do try this out!! It’s a little similar to Natsume Yuujinchou too. 2. Servamp
It looks really interesting so I watched it and when I saw the OP I screamed cause all-male cast! Compared to Spring 2016 this season does look more appealing to me. And I’ve ran out of anime with all bromance (other than sports anime) and no romance. So anyway for Servamp, Kuro was a really cute cat, and the setting seems interesting enough for me to chase. I feel like I might not like the main character as much though but we’ll see.
3. Fudanshi Kokou Seikatsu
Ahh this is really cute I can relate so much to the main character as a Fujoshi myself :D and I can hardly find friends who can fangirl with me. It’s really sad to be embarrassed for liking gay ships ;n; The only bad thing about the series is that it’s too short each episode haha. 4. D.Gray-man Hallow
I’ve read the manga but didn’t understand most of it. Still, it’s likeable and I like Allen and Kanda. I felt like this season they beautified all the characters and Kanda definitely looks better with his new hairstyle/fringe :DD I hope they can animate most of the manga and I hope we can finally understand what is going on with the 14th. 5. Handa-kun
I just watched the 1st episode today and all I can is that it’s really good and hilarious omg. Only it’s too short with the first 9min trying to break the fourth wall and I couldn’t understand the humor at all. Still, the rest of the episode was worth it! Can’t wait for the rest!

'when all my hopes and dreams are but delusions i was never enough and now i must say goodbye for all of the time that i am trying hard and i am not what you ask' — by me CreativeWriter is a very interesting mobile app. For the free version, you get to choose words to write a poem. It's kind of random like there are a list of words that you can keep choosing and try to string a coherent poem, which is pretty difficult to be honest.
Did a study of a really gorgeous photo… the lighting & colours were so beautiful to me, I feel like I learned a lot…
Wanted to recreate it (in a way) to learn some more, but draw Zura rather than do a 100% copy… it was really fun & I feel like I came out of it with a better grasp on things already, so I definitely wanna do more studies in future. uwu
gorgeous

Japanese Greetings Writing Prompts
Writing Prompts Set IV
As an avid anime watcher and fanfiction writer, how can I not do anything Japanese related? Japanese greetings (挨拶 Aisatsu) are one of my favourite components of the Japanese culture, as they often convey things that sometimes English cannot express. Disclaimer: I didn’t have formal lessons for Japanese, but I watch anime and learnt hiragana and katakana on my own. Plus I have some foundation in kanji from Chinese so I can understand most kanji, and my sister is relatively fluent in Japanese. (She chose Japanese as her third language, I chose French). I do plan to go for lessons some day, when I’m more free xD.
