@yevanss you are the sweetest! I am so incredibly happy and excited to be going! I am buzzing and in a state of disbelief still that it’s this close. Eeeek! 🤩

I plan to update on Friday and then I will fly to Stockholm on Saturday morning and the concert is that same day.

My outfit is very much Victorian (vampire) widow, inspired by Taylor in the “Fortnight” music video. Incredibly excited to see her and grateful for the TTPD Female Rage set!

Please do not worry! I think my first instinct was shock, because I genuinely thought I had ruined something for you (and others). I am enjoying writing this story immensely and appreciate all your comments and feedback!

Sometimes the emotions of writing it get to me a little, though, just like they do when you are reading it. So I am sorry if I upset you in any way. That was and will never be my intention.

I feel like you're a bit frustrated with the flak James has been getting - and Lily too, I guess - but in my opinion it all just speaks of how good of a writer you are. These characters are real, raw and flawed and we want them to make each other happy soooooo much.

I wouldn’t say that I am frustrated, really. A little taken aback, maybe, but not so much that I have stopped writing or am not actively working on the next chapter. @athenasparrow can confirm that I am very much in the process of getting the next chapter up as I sent her several (longish) snippets.

The reasons I haven’t finished it yet are:

  • I am back to work after a 2-week-holiday. It means that I am back to writing in the evenings after I have finished my lesson plans and marking.
  • I was - as a lifelong fan - unreasonably upset and obsessed perhaps with the Dutch Eurovision entry’s disqualification over the past few days. I am still disappointed.
  • I am very excited about seeing Taylor Swift in Stockholm this weekend and spend a lot of time thinking about it.
  • The musical I write and direct for and with my students is coming to an end, meaning that I’m busy with costumes, programmes, fotoshoots, etc.

But… it’s coming! I promise! I am actively working on it and reckon I should be able to get something out before I go to Stockholm this weekend!

I have been so upset since yesterday afternoon after hearing that Joost Klein - the Dutch Eurovision participant - was refused entry to the final rehearsal and the jury show. Today, it was announced that he was disqualified too for reasons I cannot fathom. The Dutch Broadcasting Agency (AVROTROS) stated:

Eurovision was Joost's dream, he dedicated his song "Europapa" - an absolute banger (you can see his performance at the second semi-final HERE) - to his deceased parents. He did not deserve to be disqualified. Especially in the light of some other controversial choices made by the EBU this year.

I am heartbroken for him and have honestly not been able to think of anything else in the past 30+ hours. The way his face lit up with joy on Thursday... honestly, I'm so close to crying still. I really hope the EBU issue an apology for making him come across as an abuser, because the way they framed him is despicable.

Chapter 10: Hey, Isn't This Easy?

At thirty-three years old, Lily Evans fears she may not quite have lived up to her potential. Single and living alone – if one does not consider her cat a flatmate, that is – her days are blurs of monotony, most of her students getting more action than she has seen in the past decade. (Hyperbole gratuitously applied.) Insert James Potter – former classmate and unrequited crush – who appears to be on a mission – aside from promoting his fourth novel – to point out all of her flaws, while strutting the hallways of their former secondary, the place she has never left and he will forever haunt now that the board has decided to name the school library in his honour. (F*ck her life.)

@practicecourts, there is no rest for the wicked or the crazed fanfiction author, it seems. I am so addicted to writing Think I Know Where You Belong (Think I Know It's With Me) that I have just been doing this everywhere I can find the time to. (As in: literally in the supermarket, as I walk my dog, when I'm waiting for border control at the airport, etc.) This ask is difficult, but here I go. At the moment, these are my favourite fics I have ever written (in no particular order):

  • Call It What You Want For being such a challenge as I had never written anything THIS smutty. Also, @athenasparrow was a wonderful cheerleader as I wrote this. I owe her so much and am so grateful to be able to call her my friend now!
  • Shout Out To My Ex (SOTME Series) For bringing me back to writing fanfiction in the first place after a couple of years without it due to the fact that I lost my mum.
  • Lily in the Sky with Diamonds Because I adored writing the songs for James and Lily and the interview style I used, too. Very Daisy Jones and the Six, which is a novel I love.
  • To All The Kudos I've Left Before' Because it's a love letter to fandom and fanfiction.
  • The Very (Un)Ladylike Guide to Fortune-Hunting For all the laughs I had while writing it!

Genuinely, though, I might need to add Think I Know Where You Belong (Think I Know It's With Me) as it's my current drug and sole occupant of my every thought.
