I need a prequel to SoS that’s just full of Blitz and Hearth’s adventures before they met Magnus, including but not limited to:

  • The time Hearth went to a Renaissance Festival
  • The warthog story
  • Accidentally stepping into Niflheim
  • Using the duck statues to get into the World Tree
  • The first time Blitz visited Alderman’s manor (it was before HoT and I will die on that hill)
  • Blitz presenting Hearth with the candy cane scarf that he (lovingly) bought him
  • Their meeting. described in detail.
  • Hearth witnessing, several times, the panicked making of ducks
  • Hearth talking about archery for the who-knows-how-many-th time
  • Going to Mimir
  • Going to Folkvangr. They never mention that they’ve gone together but I think they have so imma need that too
  • Each of them finding out about the other’s backstory and doing their goddamn best to help each other out because that’s what best friends (to lovers) do

HoO with Autism Headcanons:

JASON: Imagine Jason who is nonverbal. The idea of talking just overwhelms him. When he tries to talk he gets anxious and either stutters so bad he can't be understood or no sound comes out. He can definitely communicate though. He learns sign language and slowly the people in his life learn some as well. When people don't know it he uses universal hand signals. His favorite is the middle finger.

PIPER: Imagine Piper who NEEDS to stim, but no one ever told her what it was or that it was okay, so she starts skin-picking. She calls it an anxiety response, but when she meets Annabeth Annabeth teaches her that there are healthier ways to stim and gets her a tangle. Piper starts tapping instead of picking. She also experiences an inability to tell what's appropriate to say in what situation. She overshares on accident and feels terrible when people tell her she's making them uncomfortable.

LEO: Imagine Leo with auditory sensory issues. Sound that he can't control, especially if it's loud, often results in meltdowns. He wears sound-cancelling headphones and sometimes blasts his favorite music in them (sound he CAN control). He gets really good at reading lips and gleefully learns sign language when he meets Jason.

REYNA: Imagine Reyna with food sensitivities. Her safe foods are plain quesadillas (nothing but cheese), french fries, and Granny Smith apples. She will eat other things if necessary but they make her very uncomfortable.

HAZEL: Imagine Hazel with clothing sensitivity. She just can't wear pants that are tight on her legs, like jeans, leggings, and tights. The color red is her favorite and plaid patterns are soothing for her. She can usually be found wearing red sweatpants, harem pants, cargo pants, or red plaid skirts. They clash horribly with the Camp Jupiter shirt but she doesn't care.

FRANK: Imagine Frank whose most obvious autism habit is echolalia. He can suppress it, but he's always happiest when he just lets it happen. He repeats stuff from books, stuff that rhymes, silly things he thinks of, things Ella says, mockingly repeats stuff from Octavian, and just whatever sounds his brain decides to make.

OCTAVIAN: Imagine Octavian who unconsciously masks for the first few years at Camp Jupiter before realizing he doesn't have to. His special interest is prophecy and as a result he hyperfocuses on it to the point of fooling himself into thinking he has the gift. He hyperfocuses on things to the point where he literally can't talk about other things.

👍

Let's not kid ourselves either, anyone just making it through the day right now deserves a medal.

*reblogs while still barely able to conceptualize that this also applies to me*

Anonymous asked:

hey! been following your blog and i’d like to read more of your fics! do you upload them on any other platform?

OMG HI!!

Thanks for being weird enough to consume the madness I manage to come up with!!

I have quite literally no finished fics at the moment haha, but i'll make a AO3 page for you all soon (soon being somewhere between now and my 43th birthday in 2048). Hope that helps!

hey! i love ur page! just want to ask, where r u from?

Heyy! Thank you so much :)

I am from a mysterious place called Europe, where healthcare is a thing and where people are allowed to be gay!

A magical place where the consumption of weed does not get you a life sentence in jail, and where we say we care about the climate but actually contribute a lot more than most other country's. Did you guess it yet??

How did you learn to make armor, and how long have you been doing it? It's cool to see someone in modern day doing real ass smithy work, I always am saddened that it's like endangered as a craft since it doesn't really have a place in society anymore...

It has been 2 years now. At the time everything sucked so I searched for a new hobby. I started with Youtube videos then eventually found Armour Archives and other armourers. Youtube is the best place to start.

American fantasy armourer David GuytonI watched his gauntlet videos in June 2016. I was inspired to try it myself. He also offers templates and in depth instructions for like $3 so really good channel to begin with.

Japanese armourer Shusuke SatoHis videos are fun to watch and techniques used are very good. He makes armour for museums and tournament fighting. He has done some dark souls stuff.

French armourer Eric DubeOne of the worlds best armourers. His techniques are very old fashioned and may not be the best videos to watch when you are beginning, since it can look like too much effort. You can learn a lot even if he doesn’t speak.

Russian armourer Andrey YumanovHis armour is extremely stylish and technique heavy. A lot of advanced techniques you can learn, but not friendly for beginners since he does not talk or explain.

In Europe tournament fighting is still quite popular with buhurt and battle of the nations. So traditional armouring as a craft is still alive over there.

Modern fighting is much like boxing, about landing hits rather than actually killing someone. Armour is now thicker and heavier because it is expected to take multiple blunt blows.
