🎂 PUNCH! DRUNK! LOVE! {JooKey}

There it was- the date of the other’s creation. It was today and Key had demanded Minwoo to care. The demon had groaned and resisted a little but not more than needed to seem badass and a real arch-demon. Pfah, Key and Minwoo both knew who was the real arch-anything here. The elf might be outdone in pure magical powers when going against an arch-demon but his experience and age would make up for it. Besides Minwoo and him went way back, there was no real quarrel between the two.

So- This was how the nightclub was partially closed off for the public and Key made sure everyone was there that Irene knew. - - -  So that was quite a lot. He was pleasantly surprised to also see Belle-Lilith the newer addition to the staff of Insolitus but worried as soon as he saw Ethirdil and Alastair (two of the more questionable inhabitants of the academy in his opinion). Still, Key would not judge who Joohyun chose to befriend (openly).

The party had changed the largest part of the nightclub into a Barbie-pink mega fest. Minwoo had warned Key that the doll hated the Barbie-thing itself but was sure that the colour pink was appreciated so the branding of the famous toy had been scrubbed away and instead everywhere Joohyun’s name was in bedazzled and neon lines on the walls.

The elf sure hoped this was what the other would like- after all, he had never actually raised a daughter. And the one he tried to raise and get to know later died and was frozen in time in a tomb at a sacred and secret spot.

She is close, she is close! Ethirdil chirped as he dashed into the room and everyone hid as Joo entered and everyone, including Minwoo and Key, yelled a loud. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”

invited (im sorry if I mused any of her friends! its not to reply but to know ur character was invited kgjkgjhggj ): @alastair-ia @spencer-ia @namjoon-ia @belle-lilith-ia @sanori-ia @ethirdil-ia @minwoo-ia @hemlock-ia

He would not say they were friends if asked but he was charmed by the doll. An unlikely pairing indeed but one that oddly made sense. “Hmm, Namjoon is a very smart young man.” he agreed with a nod. “Oh, what happened when Sir tried to steal the soul back?” the elf asked but got an answer right away. “A fight you say,” he pondered it for a moment and wondered what kind of fight Namjoon had gotten himself into. He would have to question the other later. “I am very proud of Namjoon, you can be sure of that.”

The pink eyes of the elf looked up at the moon and her pale light reflected in his orbs as he did so. Making them seem even paler in the moonlight. “Mmm she has energy, it is like when some people are in the sun and they feel recharged- the moon is similar but more powerful,” he was biased of course- having specialised in moon-magic “she reflects the light and gives it magical energy. It is… refreshing. She won’t put you to sleep but she is soothing, so that can help.” he told her with a smile. “Not all go to sleep though, some creatures come out when she is out too- like vampires.”

He nodded “Like the moon, the sun is a living thing as well. She is harsh and firey. The moon is calm and serene. Together they are two sides of a coin.” while he was not fond of the sun and her heat he would not dismiss her powers.

“No problem at all.” the elf laughed a bit when she bowed and nodded at her “That is quite alright, now I will escort you home so I know you are safe.” he gestured “Where do you live?”

How pretty the thought and things she said were- he smiled at her. Endeared at her child-like thought process and enjoying how she saw the world. How cute. “Oh, and what if you were a vampire- what then?” Key did not feel one way or another about vampires, they were undead like many others and as long as they were not elves- they were of no consequence to him.

“Soulmates- perhaps, in a way, but not like lovers but like two friends who can’t be together due to life and death.” he mused and looked up at the moon. “They need each other or they will die- but that means they can never see eye to eye.” He never thought of the two heavenly bodies like that- so this was a very cute, albeit unexpected, thought. He would ponder more on it.

Oddly touched by it he cleared his throat and focused back on the doll. “You don’t want to go home?” he asked and looked around worried for all that went bump in the night. He nodded at her slowly as he looked around once more “Okay, be careful okay? You can visit me at the academy, I am usually there.” the elf assured her and bowed lightly before leaving, but he whispered a few protective spells and left Gildin, his staff, lingering behind a tree to keep an eye on the strange doll until she went home.

whispers of stars || taekey

Taemin wasn’t very good at keeping himself out of situations that caused the other to be upset at him…he’d certainly gotten better over the years, but even the second time they met at the arachna cave he’d gone and done something he wasn’t supposed to instantly. Old habits died hard, he supposed.

While the chesire did crave attention, he didn’t think of it as his life-source so much anymore. At least, he wasn’t going to use that as an excuse to force Key to be around him even while he was still upset. Though, admittedly, he was unsure how long the man was going to stay this upset at him…the elf had good reason, but dear Luna, his husband could hold a steady grudge of sorts for forever, couldn’t he? Forever to Taemin, at least. Then again he was sure Key had grudges that have lasted thousands of years, he bet.

Anyway, his thoughts were trailing, still nervous to give something he’d personally had made (by an actual jeweler this time) since he wasn’t quite known for design or fashion. What he bought and wore might lie for him, but that was because he got bored enough to look at magazines that still for some reason came to the dorms…it didn’t have a name on it so he snagged it for a while and put it back. Who knew who it belonged to. Hopefully not Mr. Hu, that crazy man could smell the chesire, he swore it.

It was a relief to know that the snow elf liked the rather oddly-designed piece of jewelry, smiling at the other when he touched the ring to look it over. It was evident in his bright eyes that he was happy with the outcome. He snorted, “You made me a ring a long time ago,” even if it hadn’t been out of the kind of love they had now, he still wore it nearly all the time, finding it comforting that if, for some reason, he couldn’t find Key with his other senses, the ring would always guide him to his lover. It was especially comforting after they’d disconnected their ‘link’ of sorts, even though bits of it still seemed to linger.

Returning the kiss the chesire seemed more relaxed now, poking his tongue out at the tease that followed. Taemin still felt his heart flutter when he heard the other say those three words, and he doubted that feeling would ever go away. Lifting his hands he gently touched the pads of his fingers against the man’s cool cheeks, leaning forward to affectionate nudge their noses together, touching their foreheads for just a moment, “I love you too.” Always and forever. Leaning back just enough to press a quick kiss to his lips once more, the chesire pulled his hands back despite wanting to stay close, but he’d respect the other’s requested boundaries.

Happy and content, he twisted a little to point towards the food and wine, “I brought booze,” he teased, forever one to disrupt a romantic mood with his shenanigans.

When an immortal who had lived many of lives had a grudge oh he could hold onto it. Some would say it was a bad character trait but Ninim thought it was one that showed he had a strong character. Taemin would be right to think he had held a grudge for over a thousand years and still… Well he did not plan on doing so with Taemin- who he had agreed to marry and love forever. Even through sickness, health and idiocy.

“We will end up with rings for every finger.” he joked as he studied the piece of art he had received with fondness. Even if Taemin would need to earn some trust back Key could appreciate the other’s love and gifts. It was not like his love diminished it was just that there was an extra layer to it all- resentment. It was fine, or so Key told himself. This, too, would pass.

The elf frowned at his husband when Taemin slipped right back into his teasing persona and sighed. “That’s nice,” he said in a strained voice as he ignored the wine and instead grabbed a cracker and nibbled on it as he watched Taemin. “What have you been doing?” he inquired as if he didn’t have people spying for him all over the academy. It was fine- he missed the geist at times who would repeat conversations word for word for him. Though he had been hearing a few stories about him as well when he was at the academy that made him not miss their presence.

Besides they were doing more important things now.

🧊 1 of 1 { Joohyun & Kibum }

The staff, Gildin, was oddly kind to the doll- it was of course because Gildin also saw the daughter it once lost. Buzzing slightly in excitement as it saw Joohyun. It drew nearer as she spoke about being alone.
The eyes of the elf grew colder as he listened to her explanation. Not liking it one bit but not commenting right away. His eyes glazed over her body when she mentioned it and then looked up again. “Namjoon is very smart, you should listen to him.” he added with a nod. “Is this, Sir, still around?” he asked carefully. Wondering if it was one of the people at the academy- surely not he would have known. He thought of the alien with the… questionable hobbies he heard about but surely he wasn’t…
“Yes, she is alive.” he said and while it was perhaps not with the same sentience as the doll- he thought of her as a living entity. “She has huge power too, did you know?” he asks as he watched her amused- she was like a child in the body of an adult woman. What a curse- what a blessing!
“Oh.” that made sense. He smiled “but then if he marries Suga, who is a good man, then it wouldn’t be special if you marry him. Right? Why don’t you ask him to be your very best friend? Then you have your own role- you could have a ceremony too. Like a wedding but for friends.” He paused and then added “Then he can’t get another best friend.”

Being at the Academy Joohyun had made lots of new friends, friends that weren’t just trapped behind a screen and truly cared about her. And here she was making friends with Mr.Key and his staff. “Yeah Namjoon is very smart! He’s helps me all the same and he’s even saved me when we first met. “ She smiled at the memory, who knew going to meet a stranger from the internet would be dangerous- not Joohyun that’s for sure.

“Sir? I’m not really sure, he tried to get me to come back to him since I wasn’t making him as much money as before, but thankfully Namjoon went with me! I didn’t want to be locked up again but I had to cut ties with my maker. It was hard but Namjoon was right there and helped me through it. Sir even tried to steal my soul back” She touched the new and more secure necklace Namjoon made for her after the whole ordeal. “Nam didn’t like that and they got into a fight…I didn’t like that…but he threatened Sir and I haven’t heard from him since ” Of course, she had no idea Sir was gone thanks to a certain boogeyman. The only reminder left of her master was a Tupperware of a rotting heart hidden away in her closet. “You should be a very proud daddy Mr.Key”

“Whoa she has power too? Is it putting everyone to sleep? It seems like when she comes out people and creatures go to bed. I feel like that would be a very loney power.” If that were true it gave her the resolve to come out more at night, she could be a friend to the moon so she wouldn’t be so lonely. Joohyun loved learning about the moon but it did beg the question in her mind “What about the sun? Are they alive too?”

If it was possible the enchanted doll’s face lit up with a huge grin. “You’re absolutely right daddy Mr.Key! We could be very best friends! No one can be his very best friend because it’ll be me!” She jumped up with a squeal. It was such a genius idea why didn’t she think of that? “Maybe Suggie will stop being mad at me now, I don’t like when he’s upset, I just want us all to be friends. Very best friends” She giggled at the end. “Thank you very much for your idea daddy Mr. Key” She held the sides of her nightgown and lowered her body in a curtsy, her gaze moving to the ground.

The chesire was still feeling rather guilty about the whole situation from before. He’d not been sure how to make it up to his husband, how to prove that he wouldn’t shove himself in the elf’s outside affairs…especially when it came to fights and wars that he had no idea about. Putting the rest of the family in danger had never even been his intention, but he’d still somehow managed to make things go awry…
Taemin had seen and heard about the carnival that was setting up, but he had a feeling that might be a bit too much for Key currently. While it sounded fun, maybe something quiet with them for a while would be better, and he’d see if his husband would want to go to the carnival another time. For now, he’d planned a small ‘date’ of sorts, up on one of the familiar cliffs they’d visited in the past when Key wanted to be close to the moon. She wasn’t full tonight, but still was bright, and the stars were busy chatting and gossiping while Taemin crouched near the top of the cliff, having set out a blanket and some nice wine and small snacks, nothing too fancy. All the chesire wanted was to be closer to Key for a little while, if it was allowed.
Tipping his head when he felt the familiar presence of his husband, Taemin stood up and turned to face him, bright blue eyes giving off a soft glow in the dim light, despite the moon giving enough light to see for the most part. He could add some light if the needed it, anyway.
Managing to wait until the older was closer (rather than running at him and jumping him) the chesire stepped up to the snow elf–shyly? Sheepishly might be a good word as well, taking hold of one of his hands so he could lift it to press a kiss against his fingers, as well as the..illusionary ring he’d made on the spot. Still a ring, but not exactly what he’d wanted to give the other at the time. “Hi,” dumby, “I have something for you?”
@key-ia

The elf had not been in the best of moods lately, a lot of things had gone on and there were a lot of new students and he couldn’t be bothered greeting them all. The younglings would have to do without his presence for a bit. Focusing mostly on keeping the academy run smoothly and the classes he taught he was not as bothered by the day-to-day of the students. Him and his husband had been… tense.

He had not fully forgiven Taemin for everything and was trying to put it behind them but he caught himself being annoyed sometimes about things that were normal for Taemin and then felt guilty after.

Taemin had planned some sort of date- which Key had no idea what it was but the location was nice so he had made his way to the cliffs, wearing pants and a loose falling white shirt instead of robes- his long hair half tie4d back in a typical Elvish hairdo. Gildin floating excitedly after him as he approached.

“Hello love,” a small nod and let the other greet him as he pleased. “Hello.” he greeted and arched and eyebrow at the words of the other man. A gift? “What do you have for me?” he asked as he leaned over and pecked the other’s lips. A quick but affectionate gesture, just because they had to work through some things it didn’t mean he didn’t love him anymore or something. He would always love the other, deeply and forever. Just… a little more strained right now than usual. That was fine though, this was fine.

Forgiveness was not the speciality of the elf- that much was known to most. Though he did try to be a more forgiving man. Especially when it came to his husband- a husband who craved attention and needed it to live. Not that Key was very worried about the health of the other with the loads of friends the other had (while Taemin might say he did not have many friends, he had more than Key and Key thought that he, himself, had plenty). Still, he needed to be there for the chesire too even if they had some things to work through.

He followed. Of course he did, not wanting to make the other even more sad and wanting to at least make up a bit. The elf needed time and Taemin needed something now, this was a compromise. They went to a small spot where the other had put effort into making it look nice. Key noticed and smiled at it as he appreciated it and the moonlight made him feel safe and secure.

Looking down at the ring he gave a nod- he knew it had been an illusion but had not minded it. After all; when your husband was an illusion it did not matter much when your ring was as well. The new ring was real and pretty. He blinked at it a few times as he touched it with his other fingers and hummed lightly. “It’s pretty.” he commented as he observed the tiny piece of jewellery. “Hmmm, you put a lot of work into this.”

Cute. “I think it is perfect Taemin thank you, I will have to make you a ring now too or I will be the worse husband.” Leaning forward he placed another soft kiss against the other’s lips. “For better and for worse, huh.” he teased a bit. He remained close to the other as he let out a deep sigh and his pink eyes lingered on the man. “I love you,” a truer statement had never left the lips of the elf. “I do.”

In Taemin’s defense, he’d been coming to water the plants and check on the bunnies. Not just barging in–he hadn’t known when Key would be home, and he hadn’t been paying a lot of attention to their fumbled connection lately, since he’d be tempted to connected too much and probably let Key know. Even if it was ‘cut’, there were still frays of connection, and he didn’t want to block it off completely…
Feeling his lover’s arms around him again made the chesire relax, stroking his fingers over the man’s back for a moment before pulling away so he didn’t crowd him too much. “I mostly meant your plants and the snow bunnies, but also no students or anyone else,” that was also good, he supposed. Smiling, he giggled despite himself at the pinch to his cheek, shaking his head a little, “Nuh uh, I’ve been eating fine,” he wouldn’t complain about the lack of his nightmare form feeling starved, which could impact his human form, he’d deal with that on his own. And by 'fine’ he mostly meant living on snacks and hanging out with Thomas between doing work and choreographing stuff, so there was pizza involved every so often.
It was hard to stomach things when your husband had left mad, okay?
Seeing the charm and loose braid, he wanted to play with Key’s hair some–but didn’t go for that just yet, also wanting to ask about the charm. But a mention of a gift caught his attention, bright baby blue eyes curious as he stepped closer to his husband (after closing the door so that Mr. Hu couldn’t spy on them. Yes, he was still scared of that teacher. No, he couldn’t get over it. Taking the package with a soft 'thank you’, he was mindful as he opened it, learning over the years that Key tended to gift him delicate things so getting overly excited often nearly ended in broken items–none actually broken yet, but close calls. His expression brightened as he studied the cutlery, examining the gemstones and–yes, it looked hand-made. “They’re so pretty, thank you–oh, I still do, I just hide them better,” the chesire replied nonchalantly, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. “And chopsticks–the decorative kind, maybe some other things…tiny clocks are new…but these are too pretty to hide,” the younger was wrapping them back up carefully and was about to lean down to press a kiss to his cheek (not wanting to push his luck just yet) when his sister??? was brought up. Oh. Huh.
Setting the package onto the nightstand (overly careful, but the clumsy chesire was known to be a bull in an antique shop) he leaned down to wrap his arms loosely around his husband’s neck, pressing a loving kiss to Key’s cheek, then the corner of his lips, only to let go and move to sit beside him. Guess he was staying for a moment, “I’ll have to write her a letter?” Only questioning since–he was never sure how much contact Key wanted him to be in with other members of the family…extended or otherwise. Smiling at the snow elf, he reached out to take a light hold of his hand, holding it between both of his own if allowed, “Your hair is long and pretty again, like when I first met you,” then came the pink hair mishap and then other hair changes, but Taemin had to admit that he really loved Key with long hair.
“Did you have a good trip? How was everyone? I want to meet your sister sometime,” pushing it? Maybe, but it was true. He’d just missed Key, and wanted to hear about his trips and escapades… possibly to the dismay of the snow elf, who he wasn’t sure if he was still mad at him or not. Or, well, really mad or not. The chesire had a feeling there was still irritation there, at the bare minimum. The brunette wouldn’t blame him for holding what he’d done against him for a while… “I love you, I’m glad you’re home safe. I can let you rest for a while if you want?”

The bunnies didn’t need checking in on- and Taemin damn well knew it. The magical snow bunnies were perfectly fine on their own. “Well, I am glad my plants are still alive.” he eyed the bunnies- technically not alive or dead. He didn’t add that. The comment about food was not convincing Key and he added a mental note to cook (or order) something healthy with loads of vegetables in it for the other whether he liked it or not. Eat your damn vegetables Taemin.

A small hum at the hiding them better as he nodded and watched the other man. “Tiny clocks- do you mean watches?” he inquired his odd husband, he allowed the closeness for now even if he still felt some anger. Damn, the meditations did not remove all his anger yet. He had been really angry this time around. Though Taemin seemed to feel really bad (but Key thought that the other felt worse about being punished than the actual act-). Observing the other as he treated the items delicately he stretched and some muscles ached. Some bones made sounds and he sighed before starting to take off his jacket and shirt. They needed to be washed and he needed a shower later as well.

“No letter needed, you don’t know her after all.” he said, dismissing the idea. He did not want Taemin in that part of his life- not yet anyway. “Besides I bought it from her, it wasn’t a gift from her. She just made it.” he grumped lightly and while he let Taemin touch his hand and whatnot he didn’t do much to return the affection. “You like the hair?” he asked with a vague smile and then frowned. He pulled his hand away from Taemin. “I visited Nyx only shortly then went to another place where my sister lives.” he got up and continued taking off his shirt and dumping it in the washing bin. Walking over to the closet to get clean clothes.

“Nyx is fine, my little Idril is growing well. She is already doing her first magic.” he said proudly and for a moment all his irritation melted away from his face as he spoke about his granddaughter (grandgrandgrand..)

“You won’t meet my sister.” he added shortly, going back to the here-and-now. “She doesn’t like non-elves.” or anyone who wasn’t a snowelf really. He didn’t add that, Taemin knew how racist his kind could be- Taemin knew how Key had been.

A sigh escaped him. “Listen Tae, I am still angry about what happened. We need to work through this- I can’t just ignore it. Not this time.” he said as he changed his pants and looked at the other sternly. “I don’t think it is a good idea if you visit Nyx and the family for a bit either… I don’t know if the necromancers put a tracker on you or not I can’t detect any but we don’t know for sure-” A pause as he wondered if he should say the next part.

Well, honesty was needed in marriage right? “and I can’t risk you endangering Idril and the family.”

🧊 1 of 1 { Joohyun & Kibum }

She squealed with delight at the thought of a new friend, with her pointer finger out she gently poked the staff with a grin. “New friend!” The enchanted doll glanced back to the elf but the smile didn’t leave her lips. “Yeah I was always alone, Sir locked me in his basement when I lived with him.” Ignoring the staff for a moment she address the other with her gaze on him “I hope you have lots a of friends and never feel lonely. I used to think my online friends were really my friends but Namjoon said they weren’t, they just wanted me for my body..which I guess is true” She shrugged her shoulder. Of course the creepy 40 year old men who paid her to put on costumes and dance for them weren’t the enchanted doll’s friend but it was the only interactions she would get while being locked away.
“Wait wait wait a minute! The moon is a she and she’s alive? She’s like me?!” Her shocked face was almost comical with her eyes wide and a jaw that seemed to unhinge from hanging wide open. “No way! I would love to be the moon! True beauty like no other” She commented after initial shock. Her love for the moon just changed to a full on obsession.
When the question of marriage came up all she could do was giggle. Whenever she mentioned marrying the other people seem to have similar reactions. She certainly didn’t think it was a big deal. “mhm he knows, he says I can’t because he loves Suga…I don’t really know what that means since I don’t feel but he says I should stop saying that” She turned her attention back to the staff twirled her finger around silently asking for another spin. “I just want to marry him that’s all, he’s my best friend”

The staff, Gildin, was oddly kind to the doll- it was of course because Gildin also saw the daughter it once lost. Buzzing slightly in excitement as it saw Joohyun. It drew nearer as she spoke about being alone.

Taemin could feel the irritation and anger radiating from his lover. Could practically smell it–a dog thing, but he decided to not bring that up. Despite that, he still wanted to be close, as if that would help, even though he knew it would probably irritate Key…and decided to give him space once he was nudged off of him, figuring the short cling and soft kiss was enough for him.
He hadn’t expected to get an agreement to the show-watching and…probably sitting close is about it, but he was happy about it. “Okay,” he hadn’t planned on making a move as it were, maybe be able to put his head on Key’s lap or something but that might be pushing it. Even the small agreement to spend a little time together before his lover left brightened his eyes and expression–so easily pacified, truly.
Nodding at the mention of getting food, Taemin figured it’d be a good idea to let Key go rest, then…it was for the best. “I’ll see you then,” and with that, he leaned up to press a soft kiss against his lover’s cheek, then headed out of the room, not wanting to irritate the other more and end up losing the privilege of seeing him before he left.

The chesire could only hope that Key was in a better mood when he returned. The snow elf wasn’t exactly known for forgiving very easily and quickly. Just as Taemin had promised, he took care of the man’s plants, and even created new snow for the snow bunnies to play in, hesitant to take them out of their enchanted cages in case his own powers weren’t enough to keep them cool enough.
Surprisingly he hadn’t taken over Key’s room, telling himself if he wanted the older to not get re-pissed off at him he’d need to back off a little and learn to keep to his own business..mostly. What he hadn’t expected was to open the door and practically run right into Key, both hands grabbing hold of the elf’s sides so he didn’t knock him over from…not even practically, he’d bumped right into him. For being a creature with good reflexes in his hound for, his human form was clumsy as fuck.
“Ah–Hi, Key,” smiling at him excitedly, his plans to ‘back off’ a little tossed out the window as he wrapped his arms around him, nuzzling into the side of his neck, “I missed you! I didn’t kill anything while you were gone.”

Forgiveness is important in relationships. He could hear his mother’s voice in his mind as he watched Taemin leave to get food and he let out a deep sigh. He needed to control his own temper too- this was his husband not his trainee. One would surely mistake Taemin for that if they could see the two right now. Annoying.

He went on his trip and got back with new annoyances but feeling slightly better now. His mind was clearer as he returned home and he had just arrived back at the academy. His first task had been to check the magical barrier that protected the academy and it was okay- the powerful archdemon had done what he had promised and taken care of it in his absence. Good. Now he was in his room and of course there was Taemin, barging in.

“Ho there.” he muttered as the other was suddenly on him and the comforting warmth of his lover engulfed him as he wrapped his arms back around the man and he sighed. “Hello Taemin,” he murmured against the other’s hair. “I’m glad.” He paused “I didn’t kill anyone either, aside from a wild boar.” he stepped away from the other and studied him. Frowning a little. “You look skinnier.” he noted as he pinched the other’s cheek. “You haven’t been eating enough.” Whether this was projecting or true was to be seen but the man sighed and sat on the bed to take off his boots. He was still in his Elvish traveling clothes and his hair was getting longer, now reaching his shoulders. There was a small, new, charm dangling from a braid in his hair.

“I brought you a gift.” he murmured and while he was still a little off about the other he did not seem to be as irritated as before. He grabbed a package from the bag on the ground and handed the tiny thing to the other. “Here.” he handed Taemin the round object- in brown paper there was silver and golden cutlery with gemstones. “You used to collect spoons.” Key noted and nodded at the items. “So I got you some elvish ones…” another awkward pause.

“My sister Sariel made it.” Well that was the first time her name came up in any conversation…

Vegas, questionmark { Taekey }

Taemin had never really taken into consideration that he’d get married–be it in the human world and definitely not in the Elven realm. But even so, it felt very real, despite the weird guy in an elvis suite and a weird accent.
Also, leave it to Key to be able to pull a ring out of nowhere. He’d have to get the actual ring he wanted for Key rather than keep the illusionary one up. The cool feeling of the ring actually was quite comfortable to him, already used to being at a cooler temperature, and obviously never bothered by being close to Key and sleeping near him (as much as he could get away with).
He just loved the man so much. He had for such a long time now–it was almost unbelievable that they were to this point. Even if this was…not quite the kind of wedding he’d seen on shows and whatnot, it had some aspects to it that were familiar. And it felt like something more was there now, too. But of course he’d also marry him with the Elven traditions as well–that would probably be the most surprising to him than this, honestly.
Lifting his hands up to touch Key’s cheeks as the older leaned in, Taemin returned the kiss, pouring in as much adoration and love as he could muster into the gentle, albeit shorter than he’d like, kiss–he’d kiss him more later. A lot more.
Kyungsoo was a little weirded out by the whole Elvis thing, but he gave Key a knowing nod and a small smile at the chesire. He was still somewhat amazed at how this had worked out–how the hell did Emilia pull this off? Glancing to her with an odd look, he crossed his arms behind himself and sighed. Her schemes were odd, but he’d have to go on more. This was entertaining, despite having the paranoia of possibly getting frozen to death by a pissed off Key.
Stepping up to the lovely couple once the Elvis had dabbed his eyes free of tears and snuffled as he stepped away, the arachna took up both of their hands and set a braided necklace into their palms, along with a vial of what looked to be a swirling liquid-galaxy–and possibly a few small bones here and there. For the flare of it. For good luck. He eyed Taemin, The bottle cannot be broken…only opened with strong magic. He looked to Key, It is good for getting out of a bad situation, or making a good one better. Or just for looks. With that, he moved away, back to Thomas, half wondering if his own husband was going to cry. The spider took hold of one of his hands so he stopped clapping, holding it between them.
Taemin was still a little weirded out by Kyungsoo, but the gift of sorts looked fun. He automatically took hold of the vial, his nails lightly tapping against the glass, which made little bursts of stars and sparkles go off inside of it. “Pretty,” he paused, “I think those are bat bones,” fascinating. Anyway, the chesire looked back up to his husband and smiled lovingly, nuzzling his cheek and pressing a soft kiss to his cool skin, wrapping an arm around his waist to bring the older close, “I love you,” he murmured, resting his cheek down against his lover’s shoulder, “Wanna do some body shots?”
This love was real- he enjoyed how close Taemin was now and forever. Key never had wanted to get married in Las Vegas of all places but here they were and this was apparently what they were doing. Well, there would need to be an Elvish marriage as well at some point but for now this was signifying their bond well enough.

Emilia in the meantime was gloating to herself that her little scheme had worked out so well. She smirked at the couple and then took a big sip from her drink to celebrate. Nudging Kyungsoo as she did so. Thomas was near crying indeed as he hid in Kyungsoo’s jacket as the other had returned to him after giving the happy couple a gift. Murmuring something about their own marriage and being his own sweet and overly emotional self.

Key watched the small necklace with some suspicion since he did not know exactly what kind of magic the other had used. It smelled like some nature magic and he scrunched his nose briefly before thanking Kyungsoo and taking the vial from Taemin and pocketing it for now. Not wanting Taemin to accidentally raise an army of the undead or something.

“I love you too- Taemin. We just got married.” he scolded making Emilia and Thomas laugh.

🧊 1 of 1 { Joohyun & Kibum }

Joohyun had no idea just how similar she looked like from Key’s past. She never thought much about he features, her only thought that she was made to be beautiful but she truly didn’t understand what beauty meant. Souls connected she liked the sound of that. She raised her hand to touch the glowing necklace that laid on her chest. It might not be her own soul but it gave her life so it was her most prized possession.
“Namjoon and I are soul connected also! He takes care of my soul! He even gave me a new necklace to protect my soul.” She commented with a bright smile. He always takes care of her.
The more she thought about it the more she didn’t understand but decided to drop it. He never speaks to her about his parents and the last time she asked about his mother they got into a huge argument. Their one and only and it was something she would not like to repeat.
“Gildin! I like it’s name, Can it be my friend to?” She glanced at the vice principal before moving her gaze back to the staff. “I’m glad you have something to keep you company and protect you, being alone truly sucks.” She spoke as she twirled also now her turn to mimic the staff.
“I love to look at the moon! Someone tried to tell me that it was a big rock but that’s so dumb! How could a rock be in the sky duh rocks are heavy” She shook her head with a sigh. “I’m not THAT dumb.”
The enchanted clasped her hands behind her back and looked up at the moon. The night was still and she loved it. “No not Namjoon, I had a maker named Sir but I ran away from him. He’s a meanie. I wish Namjoon was my maker, But then I wouldn’t be able to marry him so I guess its good he is not”

His eyes were soft as he watched her, the way she carried herself was vastly different from how his daughter had. Though it was still nice to see her, an immortal figure that looked like the one he lost and loved. It was odd but he listened to her as she was talking about his son- smiling at her words since she seemed so fond of the young man.

“Sure, they like you, so you can be their friend.” The mention of being alone made his lips press together. “You have been alone a lot, Joohyun?” the elf asked her. What an unlikely pair the two were and if anyone would not see it- only hear about them meeting and getting along they would surely claim it to be fake. Something like that could not happen! Though it did! Here they were chatting and getting along.

“A big rock?” he asked and looked up at the moon amused. Knowing how humans saw it. “She is made of stone but she is magical, like how you are made of something different than me and by all intends and purposes you should not be alive, but you are. The moon is similar.” he gestured up to the moon amused.

The marriage was brought up again. He had to ask- “Does Namjoon know you’re going to marry him?”

Play Me

As the older came closer, Taemin wrapped his arms around him, moving one hand up to rest against the back of his head, lightly stroking his fingers through the other’s hair. The younger elf settled against the pillows, resting a cheek against Kibum’s hair, realizing the buzzing of his phone had finally stopped. Probably died, or his family stopped harassing him finally.
After they’d gotten comfortable it hadn’t taken him long to fall asleep, holding the man close but not too tightly, just enough to make sure he was actually there..this wasn’t a dream or some kind of twisted nightmare that he’d end up waking up back in that terrible place all over again.
It had been a long time since he’d slept comfortably, both with Kibum there and a nice mattress and blankets. Nice and warm and feeling the older’s chest rise and fall and just–it was nice. His slight concern over someone showing up super early to the house made him wake up before the sun was completely up, but Taemin didn’t move from the position they were in, shifting just a little to stretch and raise his head a little to listen. The silence was almost deafening, but hearing Kibum’s breathing was comforting. No weird sounds, or footsteps downstairs waiting for them–no buzzing phones. Settling against the pillow once more, he closed his eyes but didn’t go back to sleep, instead he stroked his fingers through his husband’s hair and rested a little longer, enjoying the feeling of the elf being so close and this newfound freedom that he hoped wouldn’t be short-lived.
Once the sun had risen a little more, making it a semi-acceptable time to get up, Taemin slowly began to try to slip away from Kibum without waking him up. They’d slept so late, he wanted the other to sleep as long as he needed. Once out of bed, he covered Kibum up once more and picked up his phone and charger, stealing one of his husband’s sweaters since the morning was quite chilly. Guess seasons were changing again. He’d wanted to shower, but would wait to check with the other elf before he did so. Heading downstairs, he plugged his dead phone in and went to the kitchen to hunt down some tea or coffee, trying to be quiet but god knows Taemin wasn’t great at that.

This was what he had always wanted for them- something safe between them. Something where he could feel at rest. He had always wanted to marry the other he supposed. Taemin being hot and amazing and he loved the other so much even if they didn’t know one another that well. It was an odd relationship really. Though it was theirs and no matter what they would do it would be good.

The morning was peaceful and Kibum woke up slowly. He didn’t feel Taemin in the bed and panicked a little. Patting around and thinking everything had been a dream- or a nightmare if it was not true and he woke up to being alone again/

Though he smelled the familiar scent of coffee and his heart jumped. It had been real after all? He slipped on a robe and tiptoed downstairs. his hair a mess as he looked around and then his icey pink eyes found the other. Immediately he inched closer to Taemin and shyly he put his arms around the other, hiding his face in the man’s neck.

“I thought you weren’t here,” he whispered “that I had dreamed it. That you were a dream and I was still alone without you.” Such a honest admission- but he wanted the other to know just how much he had missed him. How much he craved the other close.

How much he cared and loved.

this life || taekey

Looking up to Key with a smile when he helped him with his chair, he gently laced their fingers, his cheeks heating up a little since–people seemed to be eyeing him. He definitely didn’t give off the energy of a leader, or even enough power to take on any of the others either…well, he knew what he was getting into when he asked to go to this realm, and also when Key mentioned meeting others.
Seeing the prince perk up made him smile and bite his lower lip, lightly squeezing Key’s fingers. A long while, which was kinda sad. When he’d heard about the marriage and whatnot, well…he’d thought it might be bad for the prince. Especially when he didn’t speak to others. He’d hoped it wasn’t something that would make him sad and…it didn’t seem so. Which was relieving.
When the merman asked about him he looked towards the captain, curious baby blue eyes meeting the other’s own. A very odd gaze from the merman–he shifted a little, but looked to Key when he said he was his and smiled shyly. He was, indeed, Key’s. All of him was Key’s, forever. “Nice to meet you,” he murmued, pulling the other’s hand beneath the table, he held onto it with both of his own, looking down and toying with his fingers shyly. He thought he knew that look from the merman, and he was just happy that Key had ‘laid such a claim’.
Looking back up when the prince spoke to him, he tipped his head a little at the question. Yes, I’m very happy. I’ve loved him a long time…it took a while for him to love me back like I loved him, but it was worth the wait,” nodding a little, he smiled once more, glancing to the prince’s husband. It’s good he loves you, because he’d heard of arranged marriages going…badly. It was a relief to hear that the other loved him as well, albeit differently. I think I understand. I was uh…worried about you when I heard about the marriage, he said honestly, looking a little sheepish. You deserve to be happy.
Now he was glancing around the table to others, smiling at the ones he met eyes with, though his cheeks were still a little pink from nervousness…and from the knowledge of what they’d just done right before dinner. Looking back over to Key, who had been bickering-but-not with the merman captain. “What do you do as a captain?” He had to ask–he always wondered what all these important people did to make them important.

Right now Taemin was much like a trophy wife, in a way. Key hoped the other wouldn’t feel too much out of place here in the palace. Though he knew that Taemin usually knew how to behave himself even in situations like this… If he could hold his temper and not say anything that came to mind. Key did not want anyone to get any ideas about his Taemin- so he laid obvious claim on his imaginary. Staring at the captain as he continued his talk with the man and his conversation shifted to the state of the current marine force of the realm.

It is nice to love someone so long. The prince answered Taemin with a small smile. I used to love someone as much… they’re a memory now, no longer here… The prince frowned a little at that and cleared his throat- attention temporarily stolen away by his partner as Zev held the other’s hand and squeezed it affectionately. It was obvious that Zev adored the mute prince.  I am happy, in my own way. Life is better like this, I don’t worry as much anymore. I used to be angry a lot. I used to worry a lot. I used to hurt a lot, now life is easy- simple. My husband is kind to me, he protects me and loves me. Doesn’t do anything bad…

Me? The captain answered as Taemin addressed him again and laughed. I command all the mercreatures and the elves who have been enchanted to live underwater or live on boats. We need powers on the ocean as well with all the dangers going on… Some people turned to the captain as he had said that and Zev frowned, shaking his head lightly. Ah, come on Zev. Everyone knows there’s a silent war on. The merchant has been around a lot- He smacked Key’s shoulder amicably And we all know that when the Merchant is around, war is too. He only comes by when he senses danger, he doesn’t care about this realm unless it is about his bloodline being in danger.

“Now that’s not true.” Key objected quietly as he frowned and eyed the captain. “I have been here often enough without a war breaking out- as for my bloodline that’s my business and not yours. mercreatures fuck like seahorses after all.” The table laughed but the merman made a face at that, cheeks darkening in purple at those words. We’re a healthy and prosperous race, snowball. We don’t need to resort to incest to save whatever bloodlines we have left.

Key scrunched his nose at that as he glared at the mercreature and got up as he wanted to respond but instead Zev got in between, the nightelf pushing the captain away from the table. “He got too much to drink, I apologise.” Zev said as he pulled and pushed the angry merman away from the dinner table.

Your boyfriend started that… Beinion the prince mused to Taemin, but he seemed more amused than anything else…
