i love rgbsibs and ninja found family stuff as much as the next guy, but some ppl take this shit too seriously. Lloyd calls the ninja his friends sometimes bc they're his friends, not because of some nefarious plot by the writers to make them all look like they care about each other less 🙄

alsoo like i do need ppl to understand at the end of the day DR writers are writing the show imagining an audience without an encyclopedic knowledge of ninjago may be watching it. They don't have characters who are unrelated refer to each other as brothers or whatever bc that might be really confusing to ppl new to the series and also they didn't even do that shit that much in the original

Dragons Rising does a better job at showing the kind of relationships, even potentially brother-like between all the ninja and lloyd especially- as compared to the previous 10 seasons of the series lmaoo

Hot take maybe but I prefer that over stuff like nya and kai calling each other brother and sister every time they interact because that felt awkward sometimes

One the One Hand I think all the designs of Wu, FSM, and Lloyd with non-human features (big chompers, claws, horns, tails, etc) are Extremely cool I love them keep up the good work gang, on the Other I think it's really funny to draw them all as Just Some Guy and then Garmadon is just there, the Least human .

I think something that kinda ties the whole situation with garmadon and lloyd together is that, garmadon never really got the chance to be a father to lloyd, truly. The fandom often lauds garmadon for being a good dad but like, he kinda wasn't? Not because he didn't care or didn't try, but because he was absent for most of Lloyd's childhood (likely moreso than Misako was, despite that being a sticking point in the fandom), and about half the time that he was there was spent resigned to his own bitter fate and by proxy, resigned to Lloyd's. In response to his isolation, Lloyd idolized a false image of his father nearly as much as Harumi did. He romanticizes those precious few years where his father, uncorrupted, stood by him and gave him advice and support like he should have been all along. The rose tint of nostalgia and grief and regret push him to ignore the complex reality of the man. The reality that includes the self-destructive tendencies, the weight of his many past mistakes, the harmful morals never quite unpacked. His anger towards the ressurected version of his father is anger towards being forced to see an unavoidable truth - that this unempathetic, selfish, spiteful thing is and always was a part of his father too, and it does not slot neatly into the image of "sensei garmadon" he painted from his father's ashes.

I hate how despite the Dreamzzz cast being 11-14, they all have the older character legs??? Dawg Izzie is an 11-year-old child why is she the same height as her 13-year-old brother even .

Izzie would be the only one to use small legs anyway because those are for kids up to 12 I believe ( I know medium legs are a thing but Im not sure how those are used by Lego ) That being said I think the show does a pretty good job at demonstrating their age without it, not only through design, but characterization too. Izzie is very excitable and the others can get a little annoyed with her sometimes, as older kids may get with younger ones. Zoey is also depicted as slightly older than everyone too just by her mannerisms. Even by design, Izzie appears younger than Zoey. I feel like, unlike Ninjago sometimes lol, you can watch the show and tell that these kids are kids and you can tell who is older and who isn't
