NATIONAL CALL TO ACTION TO SHUT DOWN THE CONCENTRATION CAMPS AND ABOLISH ICE, JULY 12 2019!

On Friday July 12th, 2019, Lights for Liberty: A Vigil to End Human Concentration Camps, will bring thousands of people to locations worldwide as well as to concentration camps across the country, into the streets and into their own front yards, to protest the inhumane conditions faced by refugees. 

At Trump’s concentration camps, teen mothers and babies are held outdoors in “dog pounds.” We have witnessed the sick and elderly confined to “icebox” rooms for weeks at a time. Unbelievably, children as young as 4 months are taken from their parents, medicine is confiscated, and medical care withheld, and LGBTQ and disabled individuals are held in solitary confinement.

Perhaps most terrifying, refugees are beginning to be moved onto military grounds, where there will be a lack of oversight from the media, lawyers, and human rights monitors.

“Now is the time for every person to stand up and say, ‘We will not accept this!’ No more hesitating. No more denial. No more fear. We need to be bold, and loud, and unrelenting. That’s the only way we can stop this.”

There are people drinking toilet water, sleeping standing up because there’s not enough room to lie down, living without toothpaste, soap, or medicines. There are children walking around in their own shit, disease is common and spreading fast. ICE have stopped updating their “list of death’s in ICE custody” page. They’re pushing to move these camps into military jurisdiction, so that there’s no more humanitarian oversight from lawyers, journalists, or politicians. After that happens, ICE will be able to do whatever they like with these people.

You cannot let it get to that stage. It is already so fucking late.

If you don’t riot, if you don’t take to the streets as a mass and tear down the fences, beat up the guards, and burn the detention centres, then America is destined to commit the most horrific atrocity in our lifetimes.

Pretty fucking interesting this is literally the first time i’ve heard any mention whatsoever of the treatment of queer and disabled immigrants in the concentration camps. Even the media that reports on the crisis doesn’t have a word to say about some of the most vulnerable victims of all.
