if sunny was set in the uk wld paddy’s pub be … an actual pub … i need a british sunny au where they’re constantly competing w spoons …

okay so british sunny:

• they wanted a bar in london but they cldnt afford it so their bar is acc in like … reading …

• they all went to the same school but dennis and dee did a levels whilst charlie and mac dropped out (dennis was always cutting class to smoke w them tho)

• as kids mac and charlie collected (and stole) almost every blue peter badge available….. they really REALLY still want a gold one tbh and will stop at nothing to get one

• they all support the same football club and go to games together, they always have to go to a different pub after tho bc they’re always getting banned for fighting

• dee and mac are dirty royalists whilst dennis Hates the royal family ,, charlie has no opinion but thinks every old lady he sees is the queen

• they still give out old pound coins / notes as change but they don’t accept them ………

• they’ve also been selling freddos fr like 50p each since 2005 and haven’t noticed the rising prices bc they’re dumbasses… soon they’re acc gonna be selling bargain freddos

• charlie has never been to london because he watched eastenders once and is terrified that all of london will be Like That

• not 2 stereotype my own shitty island but mac n dennis are like … that one couple that are always drinking tea they have an argument and dennis storms off into his room and 5 minutes later mac brings him a cup of tea as a peace offering sjfjsjfjskkdkskdksk

• dee played an extra in corrie once and is SUPER proud of herself … she was just shopping in the bg of a scene but …… featured actress deandra reynolds

• ^ mac gave her shit abt it bc he watches eastenders religiously and thinks corrie is shit … dennis thinks all soaps are stupid and charlie refuses to watch them bc he thinks they’re reality shows and doesn’t want to see Real People Die

• they’re legally not allowed to enter any poundland. like. they’re banned from all of them.

#honestly is it mean to say that i would massively prfer this show even though i love sunny? i dont think it is i just think this sounds#absolutely hilarious and ideal#the gang

- mac’s dad was 59 in s10, which means he was 20 or 21 when mac was born (which was in 1977, according to the sunny wiki). mrs mac seems to be roughly the same age as him, so i’d guess she was anywhere between 19-22 when she had mac.

- they were rly young parents. that’s not a bad thing in itself - plenty of ppl have kids young and raise them super well!! but judging from mac’s attachment issues and emotional insecurities in adulthood, as well as how much they’re shown to resent him, i don’t think they were ready for a child or planning for one

- the fact that mac’s catholicism is so strong when neither of his parents seem to be remotely religious makes me wonder if he grew up in church programs??

- according to google the catholic church has a relatively big presence in philly, so it’s entirely plausible that mac ended up getting most of his clothes from church charity drives, most of his meals from the church daycare, he learnt to read at sunday school

- it would explain why he’s so defensive re: catholicism even tho ultimately it’s done him so much harm. bc despite everything… this has been the one (1) stable thing in his life. this is what ended up filling the void his parents left.

- when ur a kid who gets at best ignored and at worst neglected at home, the idea of an all-knowing father looking down on u absolutely has the potential to become smth comforting that u’d cling to

- also idk if this makes sense but mac’s idea of god?? someone distant and controlling and harsh who doesn’t rly show affection at all?? that sounds a lot like luther

- god is a father figure but luther is the only father mac had experience with - so it’s no wonder that mac’s interpretation of the bible is so violent and warped. luther was mac’s frame of reference

- most of his childhood memories seem to take place outside, and most of them involve charlie. mac remembers the two of them throwing rocks at trains, riding their bikes around philly, hanging out at the community pool during the summer, but we never hear mac talk abt what it was like at home which implies that he either doesn’t like remembering it, or he’s blocked the memories out entirely

- tbh i think it was the kind of situation that gradually got worse. his parents never gave much of a shit to begin with but as mac got older and more independent, they just……..let him go. and then luther went to prison and mrs mac shut down emotionally, and mac was left completely on his own

- so as an adult mac clings onto the vague memories he has of his early childhood, back when his parents didn’t 100% resent him and his dad wasn’t in jail, and idolises those memories and romanticises them, and insists that despite all the evidence to the contrary there’s a chance those days could come back

- the strongest example of this i can think of rn is mac’s rant at charlie in s3 - “this is about people meeting back up after many years, and sparks flying, and families getting back together and raising little boys so they can be happy again! okay? happy boys! this is about happy boys!”

- and this is arguably mac’s best quality and one of his worst flaws. he is so adamantly stubborn that none of the people he loves are lost causes and all of them have potential and all of them love him back - but at the same time he can’t tell when he crosses the line from hopefulness into full-on delusion, and that ends up hurting him and hurting them

In the song ‘Dayman’ (Kelly & Reynolds, 2007), Charlie & Dennis talk about the ‘fighter of the nightman’ being a ‘master of karate & friendship for everyone’. It could be argued that the song ‘Dayman’ is just two CSA survivors singing about how their friendships with Mac (a self proclaimed ‘master of karate’) helped them to move past their traumas. okay so dee was a surrogate for carmen and her husband, right? and prior to that she was advertising as a surrogate for rich couples. and the thing is, they don’t… let you do that unless you’ve had at least one successful pregnancy before. like, it’s a medical ethics thing - no doctor is going to perform an artificial insemination procedure on a surrogate unless they have absolute confidence that the surrogate can carry the pregnancy to term successfully.

of course, this can only mean one thing: at some point in her life, dee straight-up had a baby and gave it away. and this presumably happened without anyone in the gang knowing about it, not even frank or dennis.

so let’s think about everything we know about dee’s young adult life. she went to penn, along with dennis. she wasn’t there long. she took a semester of psychology. she had a sexual relationship with her psychology professor in exchange for a passing grade, but he failed her anyway. at some point, she lit her college roommate on fire and she was institutionalized for an unknown period of time. then she dropped out of penn and decided to be an actress.

and like. there actually is a very clear timeline there. the psychology professor got her pregnant. she told him about it and he flunked her in retribution. overwhelmed by this absurdly stressful situation, she lit her roommate on fire. she was then institutionalized, and while institutionalized, she gave birth and gave the baby up for adoption. frank never knew because he was a shitty, negligent parent. dennis never knew because he was too wrapped up in his own shit to even think to visit his sister in the hospital. i was going to say that barbara never knew, but she maybe did, actually. it would explain why she persistently treats dee like utter shit, calls her a disappointment and a mistake and a failure, and why dee clearly hates her but never stands up to her, lest barbara spill the secret.

tl;dr dee reynolds had a baby in her freshman year of college and gave it up for adoption and there’s a roughly 22-year-old dee reynolds jr. roaming around out there somewhere.

Medical emergency

I know it’s a lot of money but maybe if I reach half of it i can pay for it, last night when I was coming home a bike ran over ME, it wasn’t that bad, but my foot is majority fucked

I honestly don’t know what to do
