I drew my dad and his best friend to celebrate Father’s day, even if it’s only on Sunday. I’m not used to drawing such little things (it’s about 21 x 15 cm) and it was sooooo hard to make something that looks like him with all the accessories he uses while biking (DAMN GLASSES).

I though of Depeche Mode’s “Never let me down” while drawing because of the lyrics. “I’m taking a ride with my best friend, I hope he never lets me down again”. I should write it behind the drawing, I’m sure it will make my dad laugh.

He is so much annoying sometimes with his bike and his protein-things. But it wouldn’t be my dad if he wasn’t always talking about biking and it makes him very very happy… And I love him that way  ❤️

Happy Father’s day, lovely daddy  ❤️

Scam Alert - Commissioning Artists Beware

Artists, there’s a scam going around on Twitter at the minute, and you never know, someone might try it over here.

This guy is messaging commissioning artists and attempting to gain access to their PayPal by pretending to need a code to pay the bill. Obviously we all know that’s bull, but if someone isn’t paying attention, is unfamiliar with PayPal commissions as a whole, or is just desperate enough for that commission money?  They might fall for it. OP’s tweet here.

PayPal will not require a code for someone to complete payment.

It’s just not how it works, I know it, you know it, the scammer knows it.  But he’s gambling on the potential that someone (and that someone is mostly likely to be a young, new artist without much commission experience under their belt, let’s be honest) doesn’t know it.  Let’s make sure everyone does. So if you’d be so kind, please boost the everliving hell out of this.  Don’t let anyone fall prey to this shady, shady individual, either here or on twitter or anywhere else.

This is so intense like… if you miss your mark you get beheaded

You’re doing them a disservice by not including who they are! These girls are high school students. They are the Tomioka High School Dance Club from Tomioka High School in Osaka. They went viral in Japan when they got runner up in the “All-Japan High School Super Cup Dance-Off” held as part of Yokohama’s summer of dance this summer (August 2017). You’ll know Yokohama’s summers of dance from the regular mass Pikachu dances you see on social media each summer.

They’ve blown up since then. The promotional video they made at the school has more than 30 million views. They’ve been on tons of TV shows, including performances with Oginome Yoko, the original singer of the song (Dancing Hero (Eat You Up)) that they remixed for their dance.

This dance routine was riffing off the comedian Hirano Nora and actually includes some of her comedy catch phrases in the remix. (They even got her to join them eventually!) For the uninitiated, one of the most accessible forms of comedy in modern Japanese pop culture are comedians like this who create outlandish SNL type characters and then appear on one or more shows regularly as that character. Hirano Nora’s gimmick is that she’s a woman from the height of Japan’s “bubble economy” era in the 80′s when there were tons of newly wealthy yuppies. This is why the remix is called “Bubbly Dance”. (Compare her to similar comedy character Blouson Chiemi whose gimmick is that she’s a modern, man eating career woman.)

These girls deserve all the fame they’re getting. You can read about them in the Asahi Shinbun and also check out this piece on Akane, their 25 year old coach via Japan Forward.

!!!

Let me just add that coach Akane choreographed the dance for the song “HEY HEY ~Light Me Up~” from the girls band Fairies, and it’s AWESOME !

Based on the “Little Mermaid” scene where Ariel looks at prince Eric from the rock in the sea. This part is one of the moments of the movie that gives me the chills. The song, the animation… Everything is so wonderful ! Love that movie so much !

This is a request from a friend of mine. She wants to launch her own make-up brand based on mythological figures and she asked me to draw the goddess Gaia.

It’s been a long time since I haven’t post anything. I’ve been busy with college and I learnt a bad new some monts ago.

On July 2018, I learnt I sufferd a type of cancer called “maladie de Hodgkin”. It’s a cancer linked to ganglia caused by my immune system which stopped working properly. It’s easely curable but I needed to go throught chemotherapy.

I won’t talk about the treatment for now. It’s neither the place nor the moment. It was a hard time, really, but I’m done with chemitherapy from now. I still have some medical examinations to pass before the end of the month to see how my body’s going without the cure.

When I began losing my hair and eyebrows, I drew the first of the too drawing you see there. The other one, with the butterflies on it, is frome the time I learnt I was in remission, 2 months ago.

I just want people who went through this kind of treatment how much I respect them. You can’t imagine how tought it is as long as you don’t experience it. To every people who fight against this kind of disease, if you read this : YOU ARE A HERO.

Never doubt that.

And, my dear @flammedoudoune, you’re one of them !
