Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by learning the history and enjoying Asian traditional dance performances– Indian, Filipino and Hawaiian – in various places in LA!
Tomorrow at 7:00 pm, join us at the Museum for the West Coast Premiere Screening of Los Abandonados, which tells the story of the AMIA attack in Buenos Aries, Argentina in 1994 and the investigation and the death of prosecutor Natalio Nisman. A Q&A with writer/director/producer Matthew Taylor will follow. Get your tickets: http://ift.tt/24BH5zn
The stories feature women like the Brontë sisters, Frida Kahlo, Serena Williams and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Instead of waiting for their princes to come like the women in typical fairy tales, these game-changing women have influenced the world themselves. To amp up the girl power even more, each story is illustrated by a different woman from a different part of the world.
This Sunday, let Rescue.Org help honor the strength of motherhood, as they’ve gathered the perfect gifts for women around the world for Mother's Day.
Join us this Sunday 5/8 at 7:00 p.m. for this special screening of LOS ABANDONADOS. And be sure to stay for the Q&A following the screening with Writer/Director/Producer Matthew Taylor.

"We'll note that Tubman's appearance on the $20 bill would have a special historical resonance: That's the same amount she eventually received from the U.S. government as her monthly pension for her service as a nurse, scout, cook and spy during the Civil War, as well as for her status as the widow of a veteran."
Happy #NationalPoetryMonth! Let this poem below by Nobel Laureate, Czeslaw Milosz, guide us to step back from our egoic selves to see how we are interconnected. Love by Czeslaw Milosz Love means to look at yourself The way one looks at distant things For you are only one thing among many. And whoever sees that way heals his heart, Without knowing it, from various ills – A bird and a tree say to him: Friend Then he wants to use himself and things So that they stand in the glow of ripeness, It doesn’t matter whether he knows what he serves: Who serves best doesn’t always understand.
There’s still time to secure your seat to the special screening of East Jerusalem/West Jerusalem tonight at 7:00 PM! This event will also include a Special Music Performance and Q&A with Singer-Songwriter David Broza.
Light a candle today to honor the victims of the Rwandan genocide, #onthisday in 1994 when 800,000 people were murdered as a result of a conflict between the Hutu and the Tutsi. The genocide forced the creation of the International Criminal Court, which has the power to prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, as well as war crimes.

In South Asian countries like India, bleaching and fairness creams are a must for women looking to achieve the things society determines they should– marriage prospects, career, admiration for their appearance. This prompted these 3 Indian women create a social media campaign by asking women to post selfies with #UnfairAndLovely hashtag to challenge the stigma.
Our hearts go out to Lahore, Pakistan, and all those affected by the suicide bombing yesterday.
