The stories feature women like the Brontë sisters, Frida Kahlo, Serena Williams and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Instead of waiting for their princes to come like the women in typical fairy tales, these game-changing women have influenced the world themselves. To amp up the girl power even more, each story is illustrated by a different woman from a different part of the world.

Happy #NationalPoetryMonth! Let this poem below by Nobel Laureate, Czeslaw Milosz, guide us to step back from our egoic selves to see how we are interconnected. Love by Czeslaw Milosz Love means to look at yourself The way one looks at distant things For you are only one thing among many. And whoever sees that way heals his heart, Without knowing it, from various ills – A bird and a tree say to him: Friend Then he wants to use himself and things So that they stand in the glow of ripeness, It doesn’t matter whether he knows what he serves: Who serves best doesn’t always understand.

The genocide forced the creation of the International Criminal Court, which has the power to prosecute individuals for the international crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, as well as war crimes.

In South Asian countries like India, bleaching and fairness creams are a must for women looking to achieve the things society determines they should– marriage prospects, career, admiration for their appearance. This prompted these 3 Indian women create a social media campaign by asking women to post selfies with #UnfairAndLovely hashtag to challenge the stigma.

This week, students visiting the Museum of Tolerance had the opportunity to meet world-class photographer Rick Guidotti, creator of POSITIVE EXPOSURE, an extraordinary exhibition in our lobby which celebrates the richness and beauty of human diversity. Leaving the world of fashion, Rick has spent the past fifteen years working with NGOs, medical schools, universities and others to effect a sea-change in societal attitudes towards individuals living with genetic difference. POSITIVE EXPOSURE is on view at MOT through April 10th, 2016 – plan your visit today! http://ift.tt/1RDUG2W
