I’ll use anything from ‘dollar store crap’ to ‘omg why are you so expensive’. 

The first sketch books are from a dollar store & they’re just the bees knees. Copics definitely bleed through the paper but I just keep a scrap piece under it IF I do use them. This sketch book is great for drawing garbage in and not feeling ‘guilty’ that you ‘messed up’ some expensive fancy pants paper.

The second is this Strathmore Mixed Media. It’s my fav. I like that it’s smaller so I can travel and stuffs with it but it’s also a hearty lil dude and won’t freak out when I abuse watercolors on it. It’s what I’ve been doing this years inktobers on! (in the 3rd pic you can see a black cover version of it because I hated the yellow and painted over that shit so all my books look.. cohesive? because aesthetics? mmmk)

The third is Canson Watercolor paper (mines smaller 7inx10in but I couldnt find it). I only use this for watercolors. The pages are perforated so it’s easy to rip out and stuffs

Whenever I’ve gotten sketch books more expensive than like $20? I won’t even use it. Same with any art supplies really. I got this free pack of paint brushes with one of my sketch books and I’ve been using them ever since (plus I’m very cruel to my paint brushes and forget them in water glasses over night ;-; whhhhy)

I really like Micron pens right now for inking and they’re like $4 each at my local art supply store so I buy them in bulk from amazon & that helps a bit

I’ve been using these Reeves watercolors  that I got with a 50% off coupon at Michaels (NO THANK YOU FULL PRICE ANYTHING) but I wouldn’t recommend them since I don’t have much to compare them too idk

tldr: i'll use anything for art supplies because I’m cheap & have no money so use whatever makes you happiest :D

I got this sketchbook for like $2 at the dollar store and then I got like 3 more cause wow them deals yo plus fuck yeaha cheap art supplies that don’t suck and my crappy pencils from 8th grade. but that pentel brush wow so ‘spensive much cost no regret maybe tiny.
