This is my story. My name is Desmond Miles, and I am an Assassin. Born into an order that's defied the order of the Templars for as long as history has existed. [Or has it ?] People say that I'm one in ten million. Special genetics that allow me to wield ancient artifacts most humans cant touch. It's not a gift, but a curse. A curse I have to live with. A curse I have to endure. This kind of unique 'talent', the least I can do use it to my advantage and protect the world from total destruction.

@ my american followers:

The polar vortex is about to hit and I urge you to prepare as best you can. FEMA is already in my area (central KY) and schools have already closed for the rest of the week due to the wind chill factor being -20 Fahrenheit and I know a lot of places are going to have even more extreme conditions.

Preheat

We’ve been advised to “preheat” our homes in case of power outages. This means to go ahead and turn the heat up more than you normally would. If you can afford to do this, I know some people keep it cool in their homes because heat is expensive and not everyone has fireplaces, please consider it.

Preheat option two

Another heating option is turning your oven on and leaving the oven door cracked, just be careful, and sleep in the living room with the bedroom doors closed.

Prevent frozen pipes

Open your cabinet doors as cabinets tend to be cooler than the rest of the living areas.

Power outage food

I know it’s cliche but there’s a reason why people stock up on bread when severe weather is expected. Bread, lunch meat, and cheese are pretty good staples. Cold foods that don’t need heat are always an option because you can put them near a window or outside in a cooler or freezer bag to keep from spoiling.

Safety

  1. Keep going outside to a minimum.
  2. Layer warm clothes.
  3. Cuddle pets or friends and family to conserve body heat.
  4. If you have an electric blanket: turn it on the highest setting even if the electric hasn’t gone out but is a possibility. It’ll stay warm for a while if the power does go out.
  5. If you have a crock pot: make a pot of soup on the stove then pour it into the crock pot and turn it on to keep it warm in case the power goes out. It might not stay warm for long but it doesn’t hurt to try so you can have a warm meal.
  6. If you seriously suspect hypothermia, please get help immediately.

Feel free to add any advice you have that I haven’t listed. Stay safe everyone.

Just a scratch. More like a laceration on his face that .... could very well be a nice big scar. Something else to add to the books for an achievement, right? Not that he was able to deduce that kind of thing... medicine was never his specialty other than slapping a bandaid over an infected cut. That was just basic 101 self care, as far as he was concerned. Lest he wanted to end up with something worse.

His eyes only shifted slightly - something he was grateful about, for once. Most women he knew were .... significantly smaller than him. “Just slap a bandage on it. I don’t think it needs stitches. You can’t catch me going to a damn doctor even if it’s needed. I’ll just stick it together with a bit of glue and hope for the best.”

“I fucking hate that i’m about to say this- but whatever that talking …. thing is, its not the weirdest thing i’ve seen in my life…”

Thing? Rude. This is us. We are Venom. And… we’re rather concerned with how well you’re taking this…”

“So, this entire situation was alright until I wasn’t scared shitless-that’s real cute. You don’t run with the crowd i’m used to. That much is obvious. So yeah- nothing that ... fucked up.”

“I don’t have loved ones.”
It was true enough. He had his other, whom he loved, but no one else. His father hated him, his mother died when he was born, and his ex wife had killed herself because of him. There wasn’t anything anyone in this world could do to hurt him except take his symbiote from him, and the number of people who could do that were few and far between.
Eddie folded his arms over his chest as the other man stood up, waving him off and dismissing him. It was interesting, that was for sure. He was scared, couldn’t really blame him for that one, though. A very powerful, very rich company wanted his head. That’d be enough to make anyone paranoid.
“But you’re right, I don’t want to expose Abstergo. If what I’ve heard is right, I want to take them down.” What little he’d heard, what he suspected they were doing - they needed to be handled. And  who else would do it? The other heroes in the city were all bound up in laws and things, handicapping themselves. Eddie didn’t give a fuck about laws.
“They’re linked to more than a few deaths, but the reports keep getting buried under the rug, and I’m not talking about questionable practices in pharmaceuticals.” He met the other man’s eyes levelly. “You don’t really look like you’re in a position to turn down any help either, no offense.”

His attention moved back to the other. Someone without much to lose was more dangerous than half the people he's had to watch be taken down in history. People without something to hang onto, or protect ... where nothing more than a loose canon. Unpredictable. Not what the order needed to add to their mess of problems they already had. And there were plenty that Desmond didn't know about. All he was aware of was one of the many pieces of Eden. What he spent three months in the Animus to get .. and three months of slowly losing his grip on reality. No matter how often he was told "stay with me"; easy to say when you didn't have three lifetimes of memories in your head - excluding your own. It was amazing he didn't turn out like Clay...

Lost in his own insanity.

"Yeah, I'm not getting into that mess with a total stranger," it wasn't up for discussion. Not even close, when he was so readily to say he wanted to take them down. It was easy to take down an organization when that's what you thought it stopped at: corrupt people. But it was more than that - it was an ideal. A state of mind. Where there was people like him that believed in the freedom of choice for the people, there would always be those that preferred control. People that believed freedom of choice was an unacceptable chaos that required purging. All of history could erase traces of the people involved, the evidence supporting why they followed through with their actions .... and it would always rise again. No matter how long time took to form it once more.

An ideal could never be purged as long as sentience existed.

"You're not wrong there's more than what you're able to dig, but it's way over your fucking head." His eyes nearly bore holes into the other; an attempt at a warning to stay away.

"Now if you don't mind," he started, "I have a new spot to hide before I get the hell out of dodge. If you could find me, it won't be hard for them."
