When I woke up, the spot behind me on the couch was empty and he wasn't in the lab either. I was warm under the blanket but still felt so cold I started shivering a little and the A.I instantly raised the temperature a little apologizing.

“The room temperature it's perfect. Thank you very much. Where is Tony...I mean Mr.Stark?”

“He's currently showering. Would you like me to let him know you're awake?”

“No, it's alright. We don't need to disturb him.” I yawned sleepily then I bit my lip thinking about the dream that I had…it was so wrong so maybe it was better he wasn't there when I woke up. I took my phone to distract me and check the notifications.

I was glad I left it on silent because there were a lot of unnecessary notifications.

However, one notification was certainly important.

“Miss L/N, due to the fact Mr Stark from Stark Industries informed me the project you're working on it's highly important, I decided to allow you as much time as you need. Since you're the only person who managed to get so far I trust you for putting great effort in it. Best of luck!”

“Yesss!” I jumped happily after I read the mail and I asked the A.I to tell him the good news as soon as Tony could be free then I responded to the mail.

The A.I didn't hesitate to tell him the news right away and I started humming a song as I was checking other notifications and started looking at the pictures I took last night at the helmet parts and when Tony was working too. I knew he would give me access to everything that was filmed in his lab but I still felt the project needs images and videos from my perspective as well.

But unfortunately my happiness didn't last long. I've seen a text from “someone” which ruined my whole mood. Like suddenly everything I was doing didn't matter and made me overthink even my kind of new friendship with Tony. What if I'll end up falling in love with him and of course I won't be able to tell him and worse than that I'll end barely talking with him just like with-

Sorry guys you still have to wait for part 5...I managed to write around half of it but since the real life situation that inspired this fic it's still... let's say... with a lot of unanswered questions it makes me overthink whenever I plan to make time to write so I mostly spent my weekend doing one of projects I need for faculty and other things that had to be done... if what inspired the fic at least gets "unanswered" as answer because as y'all probably know already that even silence it's an answer and it will keep being silence aka I'll keep getting ignored (or at least I feel ignored) I'll figured out how to finish part 5 and make time for it and share it/post it for you~

After 4 hours of little arguments back and forth , fixing 3 different designs , two boxes of pizza somewhere left on a spare table, bottles of extremely expensive wine and cocktails left unfinished around us, we threw ourselves on different sides of the couch and sighed deeply.

“Damn it! I thought once the design is done everything will be easy! Not that I have to work with literally fire and metal!” I whined about the extra effort I wasn't prepared for.

I didn't think he'd teach me how to build it more than the design. The side parts were done being built and it sat relatively well on the table in front of us. I was staring at them like I was about to have a fight then if they didn't have equal dimensions again.

Tony shrugged,“It's fine, it's interesting and will help you with your project. Another glass?” he asked me casually and poured another glass of wine for himself and I could catch with the corner of my eye that he was looking at me.

Once I was sure the pieces were ok, I took a slice of pizza and laid my legs on the couch , “Yeah but there are just a few days left and I doubt we'll finish it by then…despite it's hard to build a helmet like this,I don't even want to finish it.” The last part was muffed as I took another bite before he could realize I enjoy spending my time with him.

“How is it going?” Tony's voice seemed a little forced to seem joyful and I shivered as soon as I heard him and dropped the pencil on the table.

“Good good…I mean I think it's going good , if you think it's too much I'll just erase some of the things, Mr. Stark.” I answered, turning around to face him and grabbing the pencil again to play with it between my fingers.

“Nothing can be too much in your design. I've said it's your helmet and I've meant it. We'll make it together, based on your sketch and based on my knowledge,of course. Besides, I think it's so badass already!” Tony smirked as he kept checking both sketches on papers and on the floating screens then checked other versions of the helmet I've made, remaining lost in his thoughts for a while.

“Thank you! I'm glad you like it,Mr. Stark!” I've said failing to hide how happy and excited I got as he appreciated my work.

“Call me Tony, please…” He was almost completely absent, absorbed in the sketches and his own project as he remembered to add some more details and started talking with the A.I about them.

I froze in my spot and I opened my mouth to whisper, “I'm afraid, I can't do that…”

I could hear some of the girls gossiping, a few seats behind me and I had to stop myself before I could roll my eyes.

“Are you done with talking?” The professor scolded them as usual then turned towards the “new guy” which I could barely get a glimpse of before I rushed to my usual seat,which was in front of his, before I would also get scolded.

Apparently some faculty professors still needed to treat us like highschool students simply because they knew we all wanted to pass and we would do as we were told anyway. At least not all of them were like this but until I have a better course I have to handle this one.

“And you are?I’ve never seen you in my class before.” Mrs. Karen already started scolding the new guy too.

“James Barnes.” He replied,quietly. I could hear him let a small sigh as he knew what was going to happen once he said his name. It was the guy I saw on tv and the guy Natasha and Wanda were talking about when we had that sleepover at the tower.Also my challange.What a luck!To try my luck with a guy I just met!

Her last text made my heart skip a beat. I was happy she said yes to the date but I became happier now that she’s in my home with me.

I closed the door and followed her in the kitchen. We often spend a lot of time together before we go into the living room to watch t.v and cuddle until we both fall asleep…

“You know we ate a lot so I’ll just get some drinks and-” She interrupted my thoughts almost shyly as she approached the fridge without facing me when she spoke.

“No more drinks for a while for you, y/n.” I laughed and pulled her closer to me by her hand and away from the fridge.

“I get it.” She chuckled and I felt her gaze on me before she looked at our hands and let go of my hand way quicker than I wanted. “Then I’ll just get some water,you just…just go in the living room,please…”

I furrowed my eyebrows confuse at her sudden change in behavior but I didn’t want to disturb her peace and just nodded then I went in the living room.I turned on the t.v but didn’t choose anything to watch with her and simply waited for her.She came with two glasses of water which she left on the coffee table then looked at me then back at the glasses then again at me.

“So…what now?”

“Oh come on y/n you were so straight forward about what you wanted last night.” I smirked and spread my legs as I noticed her taking steps closer to me.

“This doesn’t mean, I’ll play your game, Stan.” She frowned and crossed her arms but I still noticed that she bit her lip.

“What game? What game,darling?” I pouted and opened my arms. “It’s still me…come in my arms.”

A soft smile started appearing on her lips and with her eyebrow raised she took another step closer to me. She was close enough for me to reach her and catch her in my arms.She squealed surprised and I nuzzled my nose in her hair since she wasn’t facing me.
